Patrons watch indie films with a drink or sit at the bar afterwards and people-watch in the West Village..
The Scene
Cinephiles and urban hipsters mingle, mimicking the Inwood Theater's (same owner) winning booze-and-film combination. Formica tabletops, earth-toned upholstery punctuated by
splashes of intense color, and blue tile behind the bar lend a retro feel to the lobby watering hole. People are killing time before a movie, or simply sipping cocktails while appreciating the bar's rotating photography exhibits. The music is generic club turned up just loud enough to get a buzz going.
The Draw
Few movies couldn't be improved by alcohol. Sophisticated moviegoers can flash two adult tickets at the bartender to get a discount on a bottle of wine ($15, as opposed to the usual $27-$32). Cork the unfinished bottle and take it into the theater with you.…
Yuppie Theatre plus. This movie theatre is great for adults looking for something a little different. Children and teenagers are limited.
