With grub, unique events and nightly specials, this roomy Oak Lawn gay bar is a favorite neighborhood hangout.. In Short
Old-fashioned decor, like the freestanding wooden bar and embossed tin ceilings, collides with modern accoutrements, including pool tables and a wall of TVs, creating a comfortable, friendly aura. A spacious downstairs, tiered levels and upstairs balcony provide patrons space to bond over a burger or mingle with a mixed drink in hand. With different DJs, drink specials and events every night, including drag shows and pool tournaments, JR's keeps crowds coming back.

The not so bland Bar. If you're a standing model this will be the scene for you. Everyone is waiting to be approached. Most people are friendly but scared of rejection and normally will not socialize with individuals not in their click.

A good place to enjoy a cocktail!. I have lived in the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex for over 4 years and it appears that all roads lead to JR's Bar and Grill. It is a great place to meet friends after work, or for a day in the sun on the balcony having a cold beer. The place provides atmospher and great clientel.

not friendly staff!. Mostly all staff there think they are all that, they feel like if that is the only BAR Here In DALLAS. Hope they do realize that is not the case.

mixed crowd, fun bar. This roomy, spacious hangout is pretty much the center of gay life in dallas now, since its remodeling added an upper level and expanded the downstairs. the balcony's a great place to grab a beer and check out the action on cedar springs below. if you're visiting dallas, this is the one bar you need to check out.
