Hola Tapas Bar
What People Are Saying About Hola!

In Short – An elaborate wooden door welcomes patrons into a dark, cozy room. Pots and pans hang above the cherry bar, which is decoupaged with Spanish currency. A handful of beautifully carved tables lead to an inviting patio. The menu features Spanish tapas. Notable starters include warm almendras: blanched, salt-sprinkled almonds that complement Hola's fruit-less sangria. The ensalada manchega dresses field greens with olive oil, shards of sharp manchego and caramelized black walnuts.
Best value tapas bar Friendly atmosphere

We don't waste our time going anywhere but Hols'a for the best service
and best food. We go once a month and have never been disappointed.
Trendy new tapas bars cannot replace authentic Spanish wine in the
traditional Spanish glass and the menu is true Spanich tapasnot
imitations.
Best Tappas in Metroplex
by corcaigh073
We have visited a number (6 or 7) of Tapas restaurants in the Metroplex, and we think Hola has the best selection and quality dishes. Even though the location is small, ithis adds to the atmosphere.. closer to a European style restaurant.
We have visited there with small children, but try to go earlier in theevening, due to the size of location.
For those who enjoy Tapas, or would like to try this type of cusine... Hola is worth a visit. The papas bravas is definitely one to include on you're order. Enjoy..
- Pros: Quality and selection of Tapas, Atmosphere
- Cons: Like all Tapas.. the bill can 'creep up'
A Long-Term Favorite
by mmccalpin
Even though it is a 30-mile drive from home, my wife and I often find ourselves at Hola. Since we go early (6-ish), we usually bring the kids (who love the patatas bravas and pollo en cerveza), and there is never a wait or a crowd.
The serving staff seems to have changed a great deal of late, but in the main, the service is courteous without excessive friendliness, unhurried, flexible, and usually from Spain.
The menu is all tapas and ranges pretty widely without having that many items. Personal favorites include the above-mentioned patatas bravas (absolutely the best anywhere), atun con pimiento (black pepper-encrusted tuna seared rare and sliced thin), and the pan perdido dessert. The menu has not been changed in several years, and there are specials too rarely. We had a mushroom soup special once that was fabulous, but it has never been repeated.
The atmosphere is casual, as befits a former gas station. The outdoor seating is covered and can be heated and screened from the wind in winter. The indoor seating is dark and intimate if you can disgard the inevitable Spanish football on the bar television.
If you want a casual outdoor or intimate indoor place to enjoy and linger over wine and a great tapas meal or snack, Hola is an excellent place.
- Pros: excellent food, covered outdoor seating
- Cons: crowded late; parking can be a hassle; bill sneaks up on you
