The Scene – Pacific Rim is the swanky, urbane counterpart to its romantic and quirky sisters in Addison and Plano. Jungle murals throb with color against black booths. Translucent netting separates the circular steel bar from the crowd, and parachute silk sprawls across the ceiling. – – The Food – Stunning and artistic presentation wins over diners before the first bite. Sweet mangoes and savory vegetables dress a buttery, light Chilean sea bass. The sauteed cashew chicken is tender bits of poultry with crisp baby corn and juicy black mushrooms. The beef with hot…

Not that great

by L Fringe at Citysearch

I don't know how any restranuant can mess up beef teriyaki but Chow did. I went for lunch a few weeks a go and thought the chow mein was good. So took my family during the holidays. Big mistake. My beef teriyaki consisted of steamed broccoli, slices of luke warm beef and teriyaki sauce drizzled over it. It wasn't the best needless to say.

My husband had the citrus beef and he thoroughly didn't like it.

The service was mediocre. I won't be going back.

OVER PRICED!!!!!

by acca at Citysearch

This is the most expensive Thai restaurant. Extremely overpriced!!! I had the Pad Thai, it was $16.95 for noodles that were very salty! The food was average. The driinks were $10.00 a piece and watered down. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. That was the only good thing about this place. Our entire party was shocked at the prices this restaurant charges for thai food (which is normally very inexpensive).

The food made my husband and I sick with an upset stomach and nausea. I would not reccomend this place...too overpriced for what you get! I'm surprised they are still in business.

  • Pros: none
  • Cons: Extremely Overpriced!

pricey?

by xoxokissxoxo at Citysearch

This is the most pricey of the family owned resturants, I am part of the Virasin family, and if you think this one is overpriced try, Mango's, Chow Thai [this is Chow Thai Pacific Rim there is a difference his one is more fusion] or one of her sisters resturants there are two named Samui.

  • Pros: pricey
  • Cons: sistering resturant!

Expensive, Bad Food

by samprst at Citysearch

The food was severely overpriced. Pad Thai at Pei Wei tasted about the same with a larger quantity at half price. They just simply scooped coconut milk over panang. $14 for duck noodle soup is beyond my imagination. They have nice decorations and service was not bad. Overall, a bad experience...stay away from this place unless you want to show off to your friend that you have deep pockets.

  • Pros: Prompt service
  • Cons: extremely overpriced

Best Chile Mango Sea Bass on the planet!

by juliejules4 at Citysearch

We live near by and visit occasionally because it is very expensive, especially if you have kids. However, for a special treat, I go for their Mango Chile Sea Bass with coconut rice and vegetables. It is off the charts good. I have converted many to this dish and they lick the plate. Other food there is fairly good (although the tempura shrimp in a martini glass with 3 sauces is pretty great too) and the Tom Kha soup (with or without noodles is great). The mango sea bass is worth the trip. It is never busy which makes me wonder how they stay opened, the guy must have some bucks. But, it is a good special occasion meal. Not great for kids although mine like the fried rice.
