In Short – Founded in Beverly Hills in 1985, these eateries with the trademark yellow, black and white color scheme have spread nationwide. The decor consists of simple wood and glass with roomy black leather booths. The thin-crust pizzas come with innovative toppings from Asia, Latin America and the Southwest; signature pizzas like the Original BBQ Chicken and Jamaican Jerk Chicken compete with old standbys like pepperoni and traditional cheese. Pastas, salads, soups and sandwiches round out the menu.
3rd Time NOT a Charm

This was my 3rd visit to CPK. The 1st was a little above mediocre, the 2nd a friend wanted to meet here for lunch and again I was unimpressed , and this third time we went back because it was on our way home and we really wanted pizza. A pizza and beer turned into a 2 hr dinner due to the non existent service. Our server would walk to tables right next to us (not often I watched their drink glasses stay empty and wait on food as well) and not even glance at our table. Even a raised hand was ignored repeatedly. I watched another server stand at the computer for 5+ minutes. And other stations did not fair any better. My point is...It was not just our server it looked restaurant wide. I have been a server so I take into consideration business, but this too was not the case. On to the food. Our pizza was undercooked..after an hr of waiting. No parmesan or red pepper offered. When we finally got our server's attention it took him over 15 minutes to return, needless to say we were finished by then. The food is just not that good, you're better off sticking to the frozen California Pizza Kitchen in your freezer.
California Pizza Kitchen has great food, sometimes crowded.

I enjoy going to the California Pizza Kitchen during the week, because though they have awesome food the crowds can be bad. Every Pizza is good; I do recommend not getting the thin crust unless you really want a crispy pizza. Though they are good too. Great Job California Pizza Kitchen!!!
- Pros: Great pizza & very friendly staff & VERY kid friendly!
- Cons: crowded sometimes on Fridays & Saturdays
