Editorial Review for Besa's Pizza & Pasta – by Holly Hickman
In Short
Plastic blinds, burgundy vinyl tablecloths and metal paper napkin holders mean people come here to chow, not dine. Patrons order by the slice or pie, thin or thick crust. The Everything Slice feeds the most voracious appetite, topped with pepperoni, hamburger, sausage, ham and three veggies. Generous ladling creates stew-like lasagna, with ribbons of pasta swimming through meaty, chewy cheese sauce. The menu also offers fish, veal and cold or hot subs.

Insider Tips
What to DrinkBesa's is B.Y.O.B.; there's a Centennial Quick Shop is about a mile and a half away, at Belt Line and Inwood.
Save MoneyThough it's not pricey, most entrees are hearty enough for two. Split one and grab two salads for about $6 per person.
Know Before You GoFirst-timers note: The restaurant is in a crowded strip mall at a busy intersection. Look for the Hobby Lobby.

Allow me to start by saying that, I have never written a restaurant review, or any review for that matter. My wife loves Besa's. She's eaten there off and on for years. Long story short, they delivered my pizza folded in half. I called back, and asked for a manager. When I explained the situation, I was told that's what they always do. If a customer orders a medium they give the next size up at no extra charge. All of their customers love it, and they've never received a complaint. I found that hard to believe. If you're gonna give someone a larger pizza, wouldn't you give it in a larger box? I assume someone made the order wrong and smushed the pizza into a smaller box to cover up what would have been a simple mistake. Instead of admitting that someone made a mistake, the manager tells me "You got a bigger pizza than you paid for. You should be happy, instead you complain." When I ask him to send the driver back, he tells me I'm going to be added to the No-Service list. Now I know Besa's is an institution as you've probably read in the other reviews, but this was my experience. It will be my last.
Pros: a bit eastern european
Cons: - a bit eastern european

I ate here about 3 weeks ago. I left so mad at my experience I felt I must write. The food here is pretty good and plentiful. The service is just horrific. They bring you rolls with your order (sometimes hot, sometimes cold). Just be prepared to not get any additional rolls unless you pay for them. We asked our waiter FOUR times for more rolls and did not get any until I turned nasty. They have kids waiting on you so that could explain a lot. I have eaten here about once per month for a year. The service and food seem to be taking a turn for the worse. I plan on going to Amore in Richardson from now on.
Pros: Abundance of food, parking, price
Cons: Service, customer focus
