Wonderful friendly doctor - Best I've seen!. Some of these reviews are just hatemail & I thought I'd tell a real story. I LOVE Dr. Allen & his staff. My husband & I have been going to him for several years now and recomend him to everyone we know. He *listens* to his patients, which is hard to find these days in the medical field, but is very appreciated. When you don't understand something, he will patiently explain it again and tell you everything you need to know about that symptom. He also keeps up with the latest medical journals & specializes in dermatology, which comes in handy more times than you'd think.

He diagnosed my mother's Lyme disease (by recognizing the description of a rash my mother had) 2 months before her own doctor "felt comfortable" giving her the same diagnosis. That time saved basically saved my mother from heart and arthritis problems that would have developed if it had been left untreated.

His staff is wonderful as well. The ladies always greet you with efficiency, smiles and compassion. As the first impression of a doctor's office, these qualities set the mood for the rest of your visit.

Dr. Allen shows a passion for medicine which is refreshing in this day and age. He also has the best bedside manner I've ever seen. He's just likeable! He never makes you feel stupid for asking questions and is always happy to show you the medical books and journals which back up his diagnosis. You leave his office informed and sure about what you have and how to treat it.…

Doctor Need License REVOKED. We started see Dr. David D. Allen, when he first opened his private practice in Allen, TX. We thought he was wonderful as a Doctor, but that was short lived. He had a very bad drinking problem and was self-medicating himself, which caused his wife to divorce him. We had even showed up to the office smelling like a bar. He had gotten in trouble with the Medical Board, and was put on probation, at the time we thought he had gotten help because he was starting to act as he did when he first started his practice. Unfortunately, he had cleaned up only until he was released from the probation that he was put on by the Medical board. Once he was released and he figured out that he was no longer being watched, he started medicating himself again. To keep from getting caught by the Medical Board, he now gets his own prescriptions from Canada via the mail. He has even gone to the point that he tells all his patients that they need to get their drugs from Canada, because they are cheaper, and he can write the prescriptions for larger amounts then what they can get here in the USA. So I say they need to take his license to practice medicine away from him, he does not deserve to be called a Doctor.…

unethical office staff/office manager. Dr Allen is never in clinic. I had to reschedule several times due to his absences. The office manager, who refused to give her name, tried to obtain a medical history over the the phone before I was even a patient. No consent forms or HIPPA forms were signed. She based my appointment on detailed medical history and then refused rescheduling me. Therefore giving me the impression I have been discriminated against due to my medical back ground. I do not recommend this practice to any one who wishes to have a private consultation with the doctor. Unfortunately I didn't read the warnings on these reviews and feel the doctor is just as bad as the staff he employs.…

Great Doctor. Dr. Allen has got to be the best doctor I have ever seen. He takes great care of his patients and spends time really listening. I moved here from California and he has been my doctor ever since. Thank you for Dr. Allen for being you!…
