Started in 1923 as a men's store, Barneys is now a lab for emerging designers. Prada bags, shoes and men's and women's clothing from designers like Donna Karan, Miuccia Prada, Vivienne Tam and Helmut Lang make name-brand fanatics swoon. Barneys also carries hard-to-find lines like the celebrity-adored Kiehl's natural skin and hair products, in addition to a house label and hot maternity fashions.
