Tips for Gloria's

January 24, 2013

Gloria's has a pretty basic Mexican/Tex Mex menu, but it does have some dishes added on that set it apart. They give bean dip and salsa with tortilla chips before the meal; the bean dip is fresh and delicious. Their chicken and beef fajita are delicious. This location gets packed really quickly at peak times, so keep that in mind when going for lunch and dinner.

Great food. A wonderful place for fajitas and Mexican food! My wife loved her margarita and the kids ate plenty of quesadillas.

Will definitely go back soon.

Best Cheese Enchiladas. This is by far the best mexican food in Dallas. Very consistent food quality

Not worth it. Glorias had the worst and smallest $9 frozen margarita I've ever had. It was clearly made with over-the-counter margarita mix and tasted terrible. I drank it because it was NINE DOLLARS!! The complimentary salsa and bean dip was good, and the food was okay, just bland. My husband thought the rice tasted like RiceARoni out of the box. The table next to us waited 15 minutes for water (I timed it after one of the people got up to go get a waiter.) A table to the side of us had two cooler-than-everyone-else guys who kept throwing around the f-bomb loudly even though the patio was crowded with kids. The table on the other side of us had a preschooler I wanted to discipline because his parents clearly weren't bothered by his whining, fussing, wriggling, walking around and taking stuff off other people's table. It was not a relaxing experience and we won't go back. Ever.

Local chain popular for mixing Latin and Southwestern influences into cuisine called "Salvatex.". In Short
The menu features dishes from Mexico and El Salvador, combined with a Texas twist. Of special note is the handmade corn tamal dish packed with potatoes, sweet peppers, tomatoes and chicken, all wrapped and steamed in a banana leaf. The generously portioned plate also includes a corn tortilla with semi-spicy pork and cheese.
