Editorial Review for La Duni Latin Cafe – by J.P. Anderson
The Scene
Eager servers hustle around the comfortable room, where textured orange walls, wrought-iron chandeliers and sueded leather booths give the place an invitingly rustic, yet contemporary, feel. Up front, tall shelves stacked with wine, scented candles and the restaurant's famed breads and cakes separate an espresso bar from the dining room. Energetic Latin music plays; the restaurant fills quickly with couples, neighborhood families and ladies who lunch.
The Food
La Duni's menu is upscale, but unpretentious, with a variety of casual, traditional sandwiches and fresh salads offered alongside contemporary renditions of enchiladas, carne asada and fish quesadillas. Favorites include tender, slow-roasted pork loin on a popover with mojo, greens, avocado and tomato, plus mouthwatering desserts like cuatro leches cake and baked Alaska. Weekend brunch means sweet treats, with wonderful house-made breads and pastries, orange brioche French toast, rum-banana-nut waffles and tempting egg dishes like migas and chilaquiles.

Presentation and food are usually exceptional, my girlfriend who is extremely picky is always pleased with her food. Mine however, is a different story the chilaquiles I ordered were served in a giant soup bowl, and soup for brunch fell well short of expectations , the waitress was either extremely hungover or just apathetic, either way unacceptable, this mirrors the service I have received for the past three times, and this time was my LAST!!!!

I cannot believe what people are typing about "La Duni". This restaurant is not only the best in food but also the best in customer service. The environment is great, the restaurant is spotless, entrees are the best in the metroplex, service is fast and all the staff is very friendly. If you want to try real gourmet latino food this is the best place to go, La Duni is 10 times better that gloria's and alll the "mexican" restaurants in the area together.
Pros: food, service, ambience, everything two thumbs all the way up
Cons: nothing
