Do NOT Valet!.
This was our first experience at this La Duni location. We typically frequent the Oak Lawn location, but decided to try the McKinney Avenue location. The first thing we noticed was how small the
parking lot was, so we ended up having to valet the car.
The food and service were excellent. Nothing to complain about there.
Once we got our car back from the valet service, we noticed that it had been wrecked. When we confronted La Duni management, they informed us that the valet service was not their responsibility, and that they were not liable for this. We contacted the owner of the valet service, U.S.A. Park and he too informed us that there was nothing he could do about it, because we could not prove "with a video" that it was wrecked in their hands.
We expected that La Duni management would take ownership of this, since they hired this valet service, however they did not. Think twice abefore you valet your car here.…
Cuatros Leches Cake should be Cuatros Dias Cake. My friends and I have wanted to try this place for sometime now because of the great reviews that we?ve read, and we finally got around to it. All I can say is that I was unconvinced. First, we paid $9.75 for an alcoholic beverage that was mostly ice. I can say that our service, once we sat down, was good. The meal was mediocre, but the dessert was awful! I am an avid baker, and I have heard so many great comments about the bakery items at La Duni, especially the Cuatros Leches Cake, which we tried. I was sadly disappointed. They should call it the Cuatros Dias Cake because I think the cake sat out for 4 days and then they decided to pour a bunch of sweet milk on it to make up for the dryness and lack of taste. All in all, drink wine or beer because they rip you off with the drinks, and go somewhere else for dessert.…
Who writes these reviews?. The main review states that it "ceases to impress". I hope whoever wrote that understands that that is a negative thing to say. Uhh, who writes these reviews anyways?
Horrible Service.
My wife and I tried this place out 2 months ago and we were fairly happy with the food and atmosphere, but were somewhat irritated by the service. Our ticket was lost, then we were asked by three
waiters who our server was! To be fair, it was Sunday (around 1:00 pm), so we expected a slow meal, but in all of the confusion it ended up taking about 2 hours eat a plate of eggs.
I write this review because we went back again and had a similar experience. We sat down next to a couple that ordered exactly the same items we did and at the same time. Fifteen minutes later, they had their meal, finished it, and had their table cleared when our server finally came to our table (she had not been to our part of the restaurant in over 20 minutes. She said she had lost our ticket and couldn?t remember our order. I was visibly angry, but my wife convinced me to stay. The food is fine, but the service makes dining there a miserable experience.
We will not be returning to La Duni Latin Cafe.,…
Great for parties!.
I originally planned a wedding shower at another restaurant in Dallas. However, due to a major issue with the afore mentioned place I decided to move our party to La Duni. Their attentive staff
helped us plan everything for our afternoon tea party in 1 day!
The chef called us back the same day, and helped my co-host pick out a menu for the guests. On the day of the shower, the table was gorgeous and set up in advance, all we had to do was show up. The staff took care of everything, and they were attentive without being in the way. The shower was so much fun, and the food was delicious. I hope to plan events there in the future!…
