Not worth the trouble.
Two friends and I went to Green Elephant a week or so ago, and it definitely was not worth the trouble. When we arrived, they told us there was a $5 cover. We figured, okay, it's only five bucks, but when we tried to pay for it with a credit card, they told us they couldn't do it. We asked them if they could just run the credit card behind the bar, or perhaps we could buy a drink and they could give us change. However, they were not accommodating in the least bit, and the nearest ATMs were out of service. Long story short, we (having taken a cab because of the awful parking there) walked around lower Greenville looking for an ATM, only to go inside the bar and find that it was not worth the trouble. Honestly, if a bar is not willing to help me get cash or at least find a working ATM, then I don't really think they deserve for anyone to spend their money there. Also, the atmosphere is not what I expected. If you like hanging out with a whole bunch of SMU kids, this place is for you. Otherwise just go further down Greenville to a real bar.
Worst drinks and service.
Never been treated worse. Was accused of STEALING from the bartendress at the back bar solely because there wasn't enough change in her tip jar...so pathetic. Went and complained to the "manager", but instead of ever being directed to the manager, I was kicked out for asking the "bouncer" to reprimand the bartendress for yanking money OUT OF MY HAND. Most insulting thing that has ever happened in the four years I have been attending that bar. They need a reality check.
