Dallas >Margarita Ranch
Waited nearly 20 minutes, no service. I went to Margarita Ranch at about 8:40 on a Friday night with one friend to grab a drink and something to eat. There were quite a few people there already but it was by no means full, so we were seated at a booth and got our chips and salsa pretty quickly. After that, no one came by for our drink orders, to see if we wanted food or anything at all. I thought at first the wait staff was just really inattentive in general, but two other parties came in and were seated next to us a few minutes later and a waiter served them really quickly. We were clearly ready to order but no one even bothered to stop by after we made eye contact multiple times. After nearly 20 minutes, we got up and left to have dinner somewhere else where we wouldn't be completely ignored for no good reason. It'll take a lot of convincing for me to go back and try again, because it seems like this is a common issue people have had with this sorry excuse for a restaurant.
Margarita Ranch Ahead of All Dallas Mexican Restaurants in Bad Food, Worse Service & Inept Management. I wish I could give Margarita Ranch 1/10 of a star. There must have been a change of management as my wife and I really liked it there until out last visit. There must have been an Invasion of the Body Snatchers as the current staff and management ought to be doing nothing more complicated than taking out the trash. And they would be late with that and spill half of it. In a room that was not even half full, we waited over 90 minutes for our food, which was bland and almost cold, and our waiter never ONCE checked on us for drink refills or anything else. I had only a half empty glass of warm water to sip on after I finished my overpriced beer. Maybe there was a hot dice game going on in the kitchen. I will go miles out of my way to tell people to avoid this dump. I'll be a happy camper when I see a big "CLOSED" sign in their window. They deserve it.
Nice drinks...bad service, worse manager. I have been to the Margarita Ranch on several occasions. On most occasions the service has been very attentive, and the server knowledgable regarding the drinks. This last time, well unfortunately...bad memories can outway the good. I recently visited there to meet friends to celebrate a friends birthday for happy hour. The bartender served me a drink, and that was the last time anyone served me without me asking for service. To make a long story short...we talked to a manager about sitting for more than an hour with no service and having to ASK for chips salsa and a menu and Doug Sinclairs response was "So what do you want me to do?" The service went from neglect to blantant NO service from there. By the end of the night we had found out that Doug had told the staff, including the bartender not to serve us. He stated that he had sent 4 servers to our booth and that we were rude to them. The only server that came to our table was Taffy...and her attention to us was sub-par and abrupt. She took a friends drink back to the bar because it had a hair in it, at the time she was standing next to our booth waiting on space at a table. In the time that Taffy was gone with the drink a seat came available at the booth right next to us, on the opposite side from where she was standing. Taffy came back and sat her drink on the counter behind me where my friend was standing. After 20 mins she asked Taffy if she had forgotten about her, Taffy told her no, I put the drink where you were standing, picked it up, put it on her table, put the bill on the table and then said, please take care of this and walked away. That was the last time anyone came to our table. Thank goodness we know someone that knows the owner because apparently they get a bit of confidence in the fact that no information concerning anything other than the happy hour menu is indicated on their website.
Great Margaritas. The $20 margarita (costs $10) is great here. I like the decor and feel for this place, plus it's in a great location if you're already seeing a movie at the Angelika or something. Warning, screamin' tacos are spicy! Sauce is made from habanero peppers.
Best Margaritas in town. It is a nice little romantic dining for two or great for hanging out with friends. The food is good and the service is great. They have the best margaritas I have ever tasted at any of the resturants in dallas. It is not expensive and it is very conviently located. If you want to catch a quick movie go across the way to the angelicka film theather and then go and have dinner at margarita ranch.
Horrible Experience. I went there for lunch today and I will never step foot into that place again. The waiter spilled two glasses of water on me and messed up my order. Their tortilla machine was broken, so they served all their food with corn tortillas instead of flour. None of that was a big deal, until the manager out of no where was VERY rude. One of the rudest people I have ever met. The place only had two other people in it and at this rate it will not have any. Do not go there.
Decent Mexican Food. Margarita Ranch is located in Mockingbird Station. The food is pretty good, but not the best. Their margaritas are good and the restaurant is decorated nicely and adds a nice ambience to your dining experience.
