Anything but a Dream – Went there on a whim and it was a whim wasted. Service was very slow to start with. We ordered the Santa Fe Omelets which was good and the Dream Cakes, which tasted like eating undercooked pancakes.
The Manager had them replaced with more of the same. He was nice and removed them from the bill, but you can't remove the memory from my brain. The kicker was having my coffee refilled with luke warm coffee.
First and last visit.
Eat Here At Your Own Risk... – At 7am on Aug. 22nd, Saturday morning, when the Dream Cafe should have been open and ready for guests, they were anything but ready.
Employees that were there, were milling around and obviously not ready to open.
The food was slow to get to the table, food quality was not good, the house coffee was way too robust to be considered a houseblend.
My wife ate a quarter of her meal because it was in her words, one of the worst breakfast she's ever had.
My breakfast was similar. I wish we had gone somewhere else rather than this Kitchen Nighmare!
cool weekend place in addison – Cool place for weekend brunch. Mimosa specials every weekend as well as patio dining (rare here because its not off a busy street). Casual atmosphere as well as hip clientelle make it a fun weekend destination. Bring your dog too if you'd like.
Great food in a relaxed atmosphere – This hidden jewel is a must for anyone north of LBJ. I was shocked to find that they have been in this location for over 6 years!! I had the pleasure of meeting a friend for brunch and was not disappointed. The place is sunny and cheerful. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and taken to a cozy booth. There were lots of families and many who seemed to be "regulars". The staff was friendly and willing to help navigate the menu choices.
I decided on Granola Crusted French Toast and it was to die for, my friend had the 90210 which was a vegetarian eggs benedict, and I will definitely try this on my next visit. There are so many awesome sounding choices that I will have to go at least once a week to satisfy my curiosity.
Our waiter told us that they had stopped serving dinner because of a lack of business but might open two or three nights in the spring. They have a lovely outdoor area complete with a play area for children. They were doing a brisk business on the day we were there and hopefully will be busy enough during the day to stay alive.
Should you find yourself north of LBJ check out this great spot, you won't be disappointed.
Service is very poor. – Went here for Sunday brunch after viewing their menu on-line. I got there about an hour before closing, and was seated promptly. However, I seemed to be in an invisible zone as no one came to take my order. Finally, the bartender noticed that I had not been waited on and came from behind the bar to take my drink order. He then got busy, and forgot my order until I got his attention. I asked him to please send over a server to take my food order. The Dream Benedict was acceptable, but nothing outstanding. My server was busy preparing for closing (gathering up salt/pepper shakers, etc.) and I had to ask another server to send her over. I ordered another Mimosa, which never came, and I eventually asked another server to cancel the drink order and bring my check. There were several tables occupied, but the restaurant was not overly busy. No one really seemed intent on service, with a very indifferent attitude. I will find another place for brunch in the future.
Terrible customer service – I heard great things about the food, which was all right, but the service was a nightmare. We sat on the patio which may have been part of the problem with our slow service, but when it finally came time to pay, we split the bill equally and each were overcharged. Upon leaving, we made sure managment knew about the problems, which they definitely didn't seem very receptive to. Worse part was, after looking at my credit card charges online, I noticed that I was charged even more than what I signed for. This restaurant cheats their customers and has no remorse.
Favorite for Southwestern food is popular for brunch, children's menu and more. – In Short
Artwork reminiscent of the 1960s adorns the walls of this bright spot in Addison. Dishes are named with fun, like the A Sandwich Called Wanda; Norwegian smoked salmon with red onion, tomato, capers, sprouts and herb cream chese on sourdough bread. The Coyote plate with chili-dusted beef filet is served with a goat cheese quesadilla and grilled vegetables. Desserts include the mango upside-down cake with ice cream and raspberry sauce.
