Plano >Luna De Noche
Best Tex Mex ever no secound to it.. When it comes to perfect this was it, hospitality, food quality, moderate price you name it every thing was perfect, especially for a Tex Mex restaurant the service and attention that I got I would not have got in an Up scale restaurant that have a Matre'D, one of my favorites are the Luna tacos and the sour cream chicken enchiladas; this is a keeper.
Ok for sit-down mexican food.
When in the mood for mexican food, we usually go to Abuelos, but we wanted some tortilla soup, which seems to be the best dish at Luna de Noche.
The location on highway 75 had shut down, so we decided to try this one on Preston and Plano Parkway.
Parking was good, and seating was prompt.
The seating is very open. It does not seem like a private dining experience. There are not many walls or separators between the tables.
Service was prompt.
Chips, and a very interesting, spicy green salsa was ordered to start.
The salsa was actually too hot for my girlfriend.
She order a bowl of tortilla soup, while I ordered the Spicy Enchiladas entree(with a cup of tortilla soup on the side).
The soup was good, as usual, but the Spicy Enchiladas were average.
The first bite I took of the chicken enchiladas was red hot, extremely spicy (I must have caught a jalepeno tip). However, the sauce on the enchiladas was not too spicy. The chicken was dry, not much flavor, and tasted as though spiciness was the marinade. We were both full, but not stuffed. The portion sizes are normal.
The service was OK, although I do not think we had a 2 minute checkup.
No desert, and ticket +25% tip was less than $30.
Luna de Noche is an average, sit-down mexican food restaurant.
Poor Customer Service. I had a poor waiter and poor food. I tried to contact the restaurant several times to voice my concerned, but never received a response.
Editorial Review. Popular local chain Tex-Mex restaurant in Plano has a sleek setting and the same menu favorites.
Depends on what you order. Luna de Noche has great salsa and great margaritas. However, the menu items are hit and miss. The enchilada verdes are nothing to write home about, but the tacos de Luna were quite good, slow cooked shredded beef simmered to perfection.
No, Thanks!. I enjoyed my food, but the restaurant was extremely loud even before the staff turned up the music. Holy moly! It was worse than any "kids night" in a typical Coppell restaurant! Even after I took out my hearing aids, it still was so noisy inside that I rushed through the rest of my dinner so I could leave sooner. I won't go back.
Luna De Noche is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Dallas. The food and the service are very impressive and VERY affordable! I have been to the locations in Plano and the one on Forrest. I have been very impressed and seen the same results at both locations.
The best things at Luna:
1. As another reviewer mentioned, THE SALSA. It is deeelicious.
2. The service is perfect. Your glass of water will always be full, you are brought your own personal salsa and they are GREAT about refilling it when you eat it all (and trust me, you will).
3. The food- my favorite item on the menu- Jeff's Fix (they have it at dinner and lunch). You may want to split it with someone. WONDERFUL meal!
4. Killer margaritas that will knock you on your A#$. :-)
Have fun and enjoy my favorite restaurant!
