Tips for Frankie's Sports Bar And Grill - Dallas

February 10, 2013

I really need this kind of places in my life, a place where you can blow off some of the stress that you cultivated throughout the whole week.

Its... ok.. I wasn't impressed with this place, it was awfully loud and I didn't have a good time at all. The atmosphere just wasent what I was hoping it would be. Not too crazy about the food, either. I probably wont come back again.

Good food for a bar; Very loud inside. This place has surprisingly good food for a bar and plays a great collection of football games during the NFL season. That said, it's loud as all hell inside to the point that you can't hear anyone talking. The outside patio is better but then you miss out on some of the games.

Karen, I don't know what to say. Most of the time I get the complaint that you can't hear the sound to the game or the music. We try so hard, but we can't please everybody. Being a sports bar, most patrons request, nay, DEMAND the sound to the game. Since it's not just background music and the announcers need to be heard, we turn up the volume to, what the consensus believes is, an optimal level for both atmosphere and aural embellishment. I appreciate the good things you said and will try my best to find common ground between you and the other demanding fans. Cheers, Bill

NOT THE BEST PLACE TO WATCH THE SUPERBOWL. I am glad the owner could cut and paste his website for his review. The only thing this place has going for it is location. The beer is never cold, the drinks suck and the food is marginal. DO NOT make this the stop for the super bowl.

Rick, I'm REALLY sorry you feel this way. The majority of my patrons do not agree with you. We take great pride in our establishment and, apparently, we cannot please everybody--but we certainly do try. We added four more 50" flatscreens this fall so you can see almost all the games from any seat. I'm the first to admit that service times can slow down a little on busy game days but we do the best we can. Regarding the beer, our coolers are kept at 30-32 degrees.

I would love the opportunity to address your concerns in person. I beg of you to come back and ask for me (Bill, the owner) personally. Bring o copy of this review and I'll prove to you why Frankie's is the first, second and (soon to be) third best sports bar in the Metroplex!

-Bill (PS-I didn't cut and paste that review...a well meaning patron did...some people really DO like us!)

The ONLY place to Watch 2011 Superbowl in Dallas!. My name is Wendy and I am the one that wrote that review that an ex patron apparently got offended by so…….. I went ahead and reworded my review 'in all of my own words'. Hope this satisfies all. Folks, this is a great place. Give it a try, Frankie's Sports Bar and Grill opened in the summer of 2000, they don't have three locations by mistake, Hey and RICK wont be there lol :) It will be in the NY Times on the 30th of January to go to Frankie’s AGAIN for the Superbowl in Dallas , so if you don't like what we have to say. Read the newspaper :)

This is a quote from USA Today- Maintaining its promise of above standard cuisine, Frankie's has perfected the art of "Bar Food" into what USA Today referred to as, ''...a menu on steroids."

Best regards,

Wendy STILL a FRANKIE’s FAN!

PS: They have over 40 TV's! RUN don't walk and get thre Frankies Special sandwich , it's the BOMB!

I may be biased, Wendy, but I must agree. Super Bowl XLV is going to be one big party--and Super Bowl Party Headquarters will be at Frankie's!

SD Charger Fans Invade Frankies!. Over 200 SD Charger fans invaded Frankies on Saturday night December 12th before going to the game and Jerry's new palace on Sunday. The place went off and the owners and all their employees treated us great! They even played the SD Super Chargers song for us over the house PA system! I own a bar & grill in Carlsbad, California, called the Grand Avenue Bar & Grill (The G Spot) and I am not sure that we would have been able to be so accommodating to so many Cowboy fans - not that we wouldn't want to take their money! Again, Frankie's was great to all of us and when I am back in Dallas, I would definitely go their to eat, drink, and watch sports - the owners and all his employees are great and know how to show and give that Texas hospitality!

Hey G-Spot, thanks for writing. Glad you enjoyed our Texas hospitality (I just wish we had won that game! :-( ). It was hard NOT to have a good time that night. The SD crowd was NUTHIN' BUT FUN!!! Obviously, You guys were there for a good time so I had to oblige. Thanks for including me. I have to admit, it wasn't my idea to play the SuperChargers song. One of your fellow fans had it on his iPhone. But, once he told me he had it, I had to play it. It was too much fun watching all you Bolt-Heads sing along. Hope we get to do it again, but next time--GO COWBOYS!!!!!!!! -Bill

Really fun bar. We were in town for the 2009 Cotton Bowl. A friend recommended Frankies and we went by on Jan 1, the day before the CB. They had alot of flat screen TV, so one could see any of the bowl games. The atmosphere was cool, drinks good and the food was better than most bars. But the thing that puts Frankies over the top is the owner(and his wife) are really involved with the bar. Bill(think that is right) was very friendly and helpful to his customers. Spoke with him briefly, nice guy.

I will take my Ole Miss back friends there when we go back to the CB in a few wks.

Hey, NashReb, I HAVE to be involved! If I weren't, I'd "miss" (pun intended) out on the opportunity to meet all the great fans that visit Frankie's from all over the place. Thanks for taking the time to write. Good luck against OSU this year! Should be a great fight! -BK
