RTR are bottom feeders. So i fell behind on my house payments with the last payment being jan 2008, So as of april 2012 RTR now is calling me demanding i pay on this, Well, i am located in California and as California law has a 4 year statue of limitations on written contract loans.

I tell them this and they threaten me that there is a lot more that they can do to me, I ask him what and he just laughs.

Using Cash Only. RTR is a collection agency who contacted me about my past due mortgage being transferred from Chase Finance to Real Time. The problem I had with this is that I have never had a mortgage AND I had just paid cash for the purchase price of a short-sale (my first home). I really thought that they were contacting me in error...possibly, instead of the seller (who obviously left a mortgage lender hanging by at least $10,000 plus closing costs.

Nope. They insisted that it was me that they were trying to reach and that this WAS MY debt!

I had some big problems with this company's manner of pursuit. I would get repeat calls during my work day (3 calls within an hour) from their recorded message machine. I'd answer the phone and message provided me with a phone# where I'd need to call to "handle this matter". I would have at least appreciated the option of pressing a button and getting to speak to the agent during that same call.

I called them back after I got off work each time and each time they asked me for all kinds of identifying info. (to verify they're speaking to the right person). However, I was never able to get a straight answer out of any of the agents to which I spoke. I'd ask the property address for which the mortgage was made - instead they'd pump me for my mailing address and last 4 of SSN. They told me an amount that I owed, but could not confirm that amount was all that was owed. Out of fear of a scam and frustration in dealing with these "agents" over the phone - I made all future contact with them in writing. I could have ignored them like so many others have, but I checked on my State's website and RTR is legit and licensed to collect here.

RTR did respond to my "Debt Validation" notice within 30 days and provided me the original docs that I'd signed in 2009.

It was an unsecured loan on which I had one last payment to make - some major life events assisted with my forgetting that I still owed money.

Relieved to see that this was legit and that I could actually pay what I truly did owe - I made my single close-out payment today.

RTR = typical bill collectors, but they're legit and followed all the rules (with me) nonetheless.

lazy. RTR is pursuing me for a delinquent loan owed by another person by the same name in the same city. And they don't believe me that I'm not that person even though I gave them the last 4 digits of my SSN! A little homework on my own and I found the other person's info - photo, cell #, where he works. If they damage my credit rating because they're too lazy to find the right person, you can be sure I will take legal action.

same story different state. after my husband lost his job we got behind and Ocwen foreclosed on us. Our house was sold July 2008 and in Sept 2009 RTR started calling. I have asked them to verify that they bought the second mortgage but have not provided anything but threats of judgemnet. Our whole mortgage expierence from beging to end has been beyond horrible. Now RTR is reporting the second as a late mortgage as if we ever had mortgage documents with them.I believe they are a collection company and do not have the leagal right to report this as a late mortgage if they legitimately bought the debt why can't they prove it? I did speak to them about settlement but they want a lump sum at ounce and your life financial history Like we can afford a $1350 payment and another $370 to them on a $42000 a year salary. This whole situation is just beyond words. We just want to move on and pay a resonable rent or mortgage but that's difficult with five kids. I am going to challenge the credit report and hope this will help.We have fico's at about 700+/- and we have to beg for a loan because of RTR. I never signed anything with them and we no longer have the home .what part of foreclosure do they not understand go after the mortgage company that sold you a bad loan on a foreclosed house

are you kidding??. I sold my home in 2005 and thought it was done and over with. Starting late 2009 I starting geting phone calls aand threats that I still had an unpaid balance through a mortgage transfer that happend after I sold my house. I have given tham nothing and dont plan to but they are threating to to further destroy my credit rating. From what I've read so far this company doesnt even seem real, oh well I guess I'm just screwed!
