WORST JEWELERY. DONT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THE LOSER WHO OWNS THIS PLACE. THATS PROBABLY WHY HE GOT SHUT DOWN. FOR CHEATING PEOPLE AND STEALING THE MONEY AND NOT GIVING WHAT WAS PAID FOR.
Worst shop at West Village, hands down!!!!. If the store is actually open when you are shopping around West Village, JUST KEEP WALKING! My mother purchased a ring there for my birthday at the beginning of November but had me go to the store first to make sure I liked it. I asked if they had another one like it with a citrine stone instead of the amethyst and was told no, but that they could order the stone from the manufacturer and change it out for me. My mother and I have both called repeatedly since then to check on the ring. She was able to reach them to pay the 50% deposit on the ring (back in November) and since then, we have had ZERO luck contacting anyone there. And they keep some very odd hours because any time I have tried to go in person, they are closed - and they have all been totally normal times of day, like before 5:00pm even. I finally got someone on the phone a couple days ago, was placed on hold for 5 minutes, and then when I finally hung up and called back, no one answered! It is now December 20th and I seriously doubt we will ever see our money or the ring again. Very professional, huh? If the rating could have been star-less, that is how I would have scored Ice House Jewelers.…
Buyer beware!. Do yourself a favor and do your homework by checking with the bureau before choosing a jeweler. Unfortunately, we went to Ice House Jewelers without first finding out about the customer complaints for customer service and return or refund issues. They previously even held an ?unsatisfactory? rating. We wanted to customize a ring and were originally told by the owner that it would only take around a month. Great! But once the process began the problems started to mount as did our frustration. The owner is extremely unprofessional and FULL of excuses. What was suppose to take a month painfully dragged out to nearly 5 whole months. During this time, the owner would not return our calls (sometimes for weeks), cancelled appointments ? often times on very short notice and was not even available during posted business hours. His door was actually locked during business hours- unbelievable. There is something fundamentally wrong with this since he already had a large sum of our money and we only wanted the final product to be finished so that we could move on. By the middle of this terrible ordeal, we were ready to get out- just to get away from him and to move on to professional jewelers. Our greatest mistake was giving Ice House another chance to make this right. We felt like we were working with people who had no clue- we had to ask several times to get a certification on our diamond- we also tried without success to get a written warranty. The owner is very reluctant to do this for some reason, even thought it?s a standard among the profession. When we FINALLY got our ring there were actually mistakes and visible flaws. We should have never given this business a chance. To top it off, when we had the ring appraised by a reputable company, it was only worth ? of what we paid for it. This entire experience has been awful- and now the owner will not give us a refund. I?ll be surprised if they stay in business for much longer.…
Gave me the run around. I dropped three watches off to have batteries put in them. A week later they still were not ready. Eight days after I dropped the watches off, they told me that my watches would be ready. I went down to pick them up and the watches weren?t even at the store any longer. They said that they would have the watches delivered to my home before 4:00 on the day that I went to get them. Well, they never delivered my watches and when I called to find out what happened they put me on hold for at least 5 minutes only to tell me that they would call me back. Well, they never did call me back.and I waited home for nothing. They could not care any less about their customers!!! I made a special trip hoping my watches were still there. The store was empty when I went in and a little messy behind the counter. Someone asked me for my last name and then went looking for my watches. I was so happy that he had found two of them and the person continued to look for the third. When he finally found the last remaining watch, I was just willing to pay my $30.00 dollars and get out! I have to admit that he was nice enough not to charge me but I also have to say that I would have been a lot better off just paying my $30.00 and getting my watches when he said they would be ready. I just wish they would have been honest with me and not promise to have them delivered. Not having to pay for the work was not worth the stress of it all for me. I am sorry to say that I don't know how they are going to be in business more than a year. I wish them all the luck but I know that I won't be back and I have to say to anyone else that is thinking about going there, "enter at your own risk."…
