GREAT ! - at taking your money!
by girlbrooke at Citysearch
Great at taking your money - terrible at filling an RX! They won't stand behind their RX or glasses. Takes months to get glasses back, and the RX is never right - but then they have your money. Great place for frames, get the # and get online for less than 1/2 price.
Buyer beware!
Note the signs everywhere about no refunds! CLUE!
Great Eyewear and Staff

Was at Eye Pieces today and wanted everyone to know I had a great eye exam. Dr. Birenbaum took his time and gave a great examination. Staff was very polite and helpful and they had a great selection of unique eyewear. I would recommend Eye Pieces to everyone.
RUDE and TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

I went to Dr Birenbaum on 3/7/11 for contact lens prescription and contact lens. I paid for 6 month supply of contact lenses but to this date I still don’t have anything in my possession. The prescription is wrong and with every contact lens he has given me to try out, I see double or blurry. I have been to his store 6 times and he has seen me twice because he is either not there or he is in Cabo, Mexico and he doesn’t have anybody on call to take care of his patients in his absence. My two visits with him have been only for only couple of minutes. He does a quick lens exam (and tells me how good I can see with a new prescription – speaking on my behalf) and put a contact lens in my eyes and he sends me home. I can’t see with the prescription or any of the contact lenses he has given me. He refuses to give my FULL money back. I have given him plenty of chances to correct his mistake but to this date (5/16/11), he can’t get it right. Finally he called me on in the afternoon of 5/16/11 and he was rude and extremely short with me and stated that he refused to refund me the money and it's my fault that I couldn't go to him for more examinations. I don’t think this is right that after 2 months of waiting, trying, and visiting his store 6 times and multiple changes to the prescription and many contact lens tryouts, for him to charge me for something he can’t get right. I am extremely upset with his services and his lack of customer service. I have a very busy schedule (I work full time about 45 miles away from my home); therefore, I am unable to leave my work early to attend to his ridiculous examinations or visit his assistant, Summer, so she can give me, once again, another contact lens to try out hoping he has gotten it right this time. I asked them about information on Texas Optometry Board but they refused to give it to me and there was no information posted on his wall. So finally I found the info on my own and finally filed a formal complaint against him with the board.
Terrible service and overpriced

I first went to Eye pieces a few years ago because they were, at the time, the only place I could find a certain brand of frames. Let me tell you I should have walked out when I saw how insincere the doctor and sales reps were.
Think of a bunch of 'Yes men' agreeing with any and everything you say, and trying to sell you anything they can no matter how horrible the frames might look on you.
Once I decided on the frames I wanted, it took them FOUR MONTHS to get them right! If I pay for $1000 dollars glasses, they had better be PERFECT! First time I got them, there were scratches on the frame and the screws were mis-matched. The second time I got them, the lenses were scratched, and the third time the lenses were scratched, and the fourth time the power was wrong. Any each time I asked them to fix the problem, they made it seem like I was inconveniencing them!
On top of all this, they did not honor my insurance discount, even though their site says that they accepted it. The feeling I get from this place is one of contempt and plastic. Not one person in the place is sincere, nor do they care about their customers.
I recently damaged the frames and took them to eye pieces to get them fixed... Suprise suprise, they said that they could not fix them, but said that they would help me pick out a new pair. Well that didn't sit with me very well.
I took my frames to Goo Goo Eyes where I was met with a smile and empathy for my situation. They asked me to leave the glasses there, and they would see what they could do.
Not 2 hours later I get a call to come get my glasses. When I arrived they had fixed my glasses with original hardware, and they didn't even charge me!! They have made me a customer to LIFE.
I suggest that you AVOID eye piece of crap at all costs, unless you like being looked down on and treated like you're nothing but a credit card.
- Pros: Avoid this place
- Cons: Snotty doctor and sales reps
Beware of pricing !

I won' t go back here because I was overcharged for glasses. I was advised that the model selected was "designer" so the coverage amount from insurance would be less. I paid and left with a funny feeling, so when I called my insurance they told me to go right back there and demand a refund for what i was over-charged. They also were going to document this internally and would CC Eye Pieces.
Great location is what brought me there, like others I assume. Please keep this in mind even if you like going here - no one wants to get ripped off.
- Pros: Selection, Technology
- Cons: Insurance covered more than they said
