The Scene – This narrow restaurant's brick walls appear broken away to reveal a blue sky painted walls. Small aluminum ornaments also adorn the wall while a Statue of Liberty riding a motorcycle hangs above the cashier. Patrons join the line at the counter as the employees concoct the custom orders. After paying, customers choose to sit inside with the loud conversation and rock tunes, or outside on the small patio for a quieter spot. – – The Food – Menu choices are limited, with the real options coming from ingredients. Perfect pre-game meal

We always stop at Freebirds on our way to any Mavs or Stars game. It is the perfect alternative to the overpriced and tasteless concessions at the game. I always go for the half bird. It's smaller than the full sized burrito, but it is MORE than enough for me. Load it with chicken, rice, beans, and all the fresh veggies and salsa you can handle. Delish!
Best Burritos Ever!!

This is my very favorite place to eat. I drive 2 hours to eat Freebirds burritos! I love that I can get a great vegetarian burrito just the way I want it!
- Pros: great service and great price
- Cons: the lines get long at peak times.....but only because the food is so great
HUGE burritos and extremely fresh

I have been a huge Chipotle junkie for years and my friends have been asking me to try Freebirds for awhile. Although I was hesitant, I reluctantly drove half an hour and had my first experience there. It's pretty unique on the inside, decorated with bricks and paint. Nostalgic stuff adorns the walls. I went during the lunch rush on a weekday, so it was esp. packed with people. Parking was difficult to find in front of the restaurant, but park a little ways down and you shouldn't have a problem. Even then, though, the wait was not long at all. Seating looked pretty limited, but the line moved very quickly and we found seats without a problem. I ordered the Monster Burrito with the cayenne tortilla and steak ($7.50). I also added onions, bell peppers, rice, cheese, sour cream, and some salsa. With the anticipation building up inside of me, I took my first bite. Right away, I noticed immediately that the steak tasted different than Chipotle. It tasted.... FRESH. straight off the grill. and it was thinly-cut skirt steak, not the big cubes that Chipotle uses. Delicious and tender! The rest of the ingredients were pretty much the same as any other burrito place, but the tortilla was excellent! There is also flour, wheat, corn, and spinach tortillas. My only complaint comes from the price. It's quite a bit more than Chipotle. Granted, a Monster burrito is slightly bigger than Chipotle's standard, but it's also two dollars more. Sour cream, which is a free option at Chipotle, is 75 cents. Guacamole and Queso are also 75 cent options. After adding sour cream and a drink, my entire bill was $10. If I'm REALLY hungry next time, I'm going to order the SUPER MONSTER burrito ($13). I've heard it's the size of a football. I'm not even sure how something that big is even constructed, but regardless, it's going to be delicious! Freebirds is definitely our choice when it comes to burritos!
- Pros: great steak, unique tortillas, huge on SIZE
- Cons: really busy most of the time, a bit more expensive than competition
