In Short – The staff with their impossibly hip gravity-defying hairstyles are just as cool as the patrons. On busy nights, Champagne bottles are popped (think Dom Perignon); saketinis are shaken and inventive sushi rolls such as Nine featuring a combination of nine ingredients including shrimp tempura, crabmeat and dijon mustard, are served. There's a full sushi and yakitori menu and fusion items like carparcio de Japon (seared sliced beef served with a spicy garlic soy vinaigrette).
Its so good

Good atmosphere, great drinks, good sushi. Love sushi and Ive been to Reikyu quite a few times, although I took about a year off after finding Teppo which I find much better. Now, I have not had anything other than sushi there so I cant comment on their "regular" menu. I was very disappointed upon retrying Reikyu. I order sushi basics, I dont care for the sauces the chef uses there in most of the rolls and adds as sides to sushi and sashimi. It may be unique but I find it too rich and sweet. The tuna sushi was terrible. Extremely "fibrous" if thats the correct term, I wondered if they gave it to me because I ordered take out. The other sushi I ordered was ok, but for the price it should be better than ok. I have had better there but sorry 1 strike and your out with sushi.
- Pros: Atmosphere, drinks
- Cons: Sushi quality not comparable with price, sauces too rich for sushi

I now have a 3.5 year old - so don't get to frequent sushi as much as I used to (2 x week) - and what a pleasant surprise. Not Pretentious like so many places in Dallas have become. Nice staff - very friendly, made great recommendations. the specials are a little pricey - but the sushi is not. The sushi chef was pleasant & accomodating. My husband who does not like "fishy" tasting sushi - really liked everything but the spicy tuna roll. What a Pleasant surprise. Thank you for a great dining experience.
- Pros: Great variety
- Cons: little pricey
Reikyu-Trendy and phenomenal

Reikyu is one of my favorite restaurants! The staff is incredible and so polite. After a few times of going the owner and bartender and staff all learned our names and remembered our favorites, and eventually made up their own concoctions they felt were our taste! The food is spectacular and though they may have a reputation of just having SMU students there constantly, they have been cracking down on the underage drinking, so they only students there are seniors. I highly recommend anyone to trendy and fun restaurant!
- Pros: great sushi and atmosphere
- Cons: a little pricy, but what's a few extra dollars for a great night?
