Beware//nice place but.... The antique hotel is nice, but it is full of mold, and those with mold allergies as bad as mine and my significant others will not be able to breathe with in the first 15 minutes. Within minutes of check in I was losing my breathe, and eye itching, we made it to our floor, opened the door to the room and it was 50% WORSE as room had been closed up and no ventilation. Went straight down, checked out. NO parking anywhere downtown either, and no safe on DAllas streets. Thefts are high in this economy. The charm was lost on the aging process of which needs to be checked for black mold as is very dangerous to health. I am young so imagine what this would do to people with respiratory problems and allergies. Staff was very nice, and gave us our money back quickly and was out to breathe!!

Good and Bad. The price of this hotel is fairly cheap compared to similar hotels. However, you will experience some extra fees that make your room rate deceiving. It WILL cost you $15 to park your car through the hotel since there simply isn't another good option. Furthermore, trying to find a garage isn't recommended since the area around the hotel isn't the type of place you want to be walking around. The free shuttle service (within three miles) is nice, and definitely useful.

The hotel does have some charm, they do offer a nice breakfast, the front desk lady was friendly, and there are cookies and milk in the lobby at night. On the flip side the room is pretty small, doesn't have many of the features (fridge, microwave) you would expect, and my room in particular didn't come with a comforter, and the bathroom door didn't close. Also, when I was there, they only had one working elevator.

Bottom line is - Don't be sold on the low price, cause your can expect about $30 in fees/parking. Also, the elegant antique hotel with modern touches isn't really what your going to get. What you get is a hotel that's close enough to many of Dallas's things to do to take the free shuttle, at a decent enough price. The hotel's style, service, and atmosphere are probably negatives at the end of the day.

Not what I expected at all. one elevator that works and it's very slow. Free shuttle, but you have to wait 45 minutes to get it. Housekeeping would forget to replace things like towels, soap, coffee, etc.. Would call and get it 2-3 hours later. Front desk not very friendly. Nobody seems to enjoy working here. This hotel was the joke at our convention. They made fun of anyone who stayed here because everyone had problems here. Not recommended at all! For valet parking, you park your car and bring the keys into the front desk and they take care of the car when they get a chance. $15 a day! That's the only parking.
