A true gem - some of the best Italian you will find anywhere.
When we lived in Coppell, my wife and I would frequent Cafe Portobello. Simply put, it is excellent italian food in a quaint, neighborhood setting. The caesar salads are large and flavorful. The Veal Portobello is perfectly executed and is sublime - I can't recommend it enough. Over the years, we've had just about everything on the menu, and nothing has disappointed. It is so refreshing to find a high-quality, elegant italian place with a neighborhood feel. Though a little pricey, it is worth every penny. My wife and I have dinner there whenever we are back in Dallas.
Watercolors of Venice, live piano music and Italian food are the main draws at this Coppell restaurant.. In Short Appetizers range from grilled portobello mushrooms to mussels marinara. Pastas include favorite standards such as fettuccine Alfredo and lasagna. Mostaccioli Siciliano bakes penne pasta with eggplant, ricotta and mozzarella in marinara sauce. Fish lovers might enjoy linguine tuttomare, with shrimp, clams, mussels, calamari, scallops and fish. House specials include chateaubriand in bearnaise sauce, lobster and Dover sole meuniere. Veal, filet mignon and orange roughy with capers and white wine round out the menu.
