What People Are Saying About Gordo's Italian / American Restaurant

In Short – Established in 1953, Gordo's is a clever mix of fun, family dining and an upscale bar scene. The restaurant is split into two open spaces. The dining room is dimly lit and filled with white linen-covered tables. The other half sports a square bar and a shimmering grand piano where local musicians tickle the ivories on weekends. Food ranges from traditional favorites like rigatoni and chicken cacciatore to dinner specials veal Oscar and chicken Marsala.

Bully and Tyrant Owner
by dallaspg
Recently, I had the misfortune to dine at Gordo’s with my family who were visiting from out of town. When we arrived, the Owner was sitting in a chair near the front door….asleep. When he awoke from his nap, he jumped up to greet us. He showed us to our table and when my mother commented to the server that she felt the house wine was overpriced. The Owner proceeded to come to our table and lecture us that his rent is $500/day and he pays $3.50 for that glass of HOUSE wine and then $0.90 tax. Clearly we must look like we just fell off the turnip truck. Then we witnessed him chastising the wait staff in front of customers. This man is a TYRANT and a BULLY to his staff and his clients. Admittedly, the food was good and our server did everything she could to make up for the Owners ignorance and lack of class. It was clear why the restaurant was nearly empty. He will never have to worry about me or anyone I know darkening his door ever again.
horrible experience

I bought a coupon to use at this restaurant. This is the only reason we ate there.
I got the spaghetti with meat sauce. Yuk. awful.
When I gave the coupon to the server the manager came out and said "where did you get this". He kept leaving and coming back like he couldn't find the information. Bottom line he wouldn't honor the coupon.
His employees commented on his actions. Guess he's not a good employer.
Anyway will NEVER go back.
Gordo's Rocks! - Well Done

Wow! My wife and I just had dinner at Gordo’, Preston Center for the first time, we took my mom and dad as a treat and boy were we pleased; I don’t know why we haven’t been here before. Everything, especially my seafood pasta was simply wonderful. The service was excellent every need was anticipated and George the General Manager made us feel special. Everything was priced very reasonable. GREAT FOOD – GREAT SERVICE – GREAT PRICE – We we’ll be back soon.
Howling Good Place

This is the place we have been looking for for a long time. Id does not have the big open room that most heve. You feel like you are in the place almost all by yourselves. The food is great but the rest makes one of a kind. This is the way to go for dining out.
- Pros: Not just a "Big Open Room"!!
- Cons: None that matters
Great relaxing place to enjoy with family and friends
by SCowden
Gordos is a great place to enjoy a relaxing lunch with family or friends. The staff is great and very attentive and makes you feel at home. My family and I had the " Great White Pizza and I most say it is the best around. I recommend this place and tell your friends:)
- Pros: The best "Great White Piza"
