The Scene – Brown butcher paper on the tables and a buzzing, copper-accented open kitchen give this room a casual, energetic feel. Framed postcards and photographs adorn the pale stucco walls of the warmly lit space, in which high shelves of wine are displayed at a tiny bar and a few plush easy chairs make for an intimate lounge. A fashionable crowd of diners--many of them Italian--chat breezily at tables and spill out onto the outdoor patio. – – The Food – Taverna's simple, rustic fare sings with fresh ingredients and clean flavors, from piping-hot pan-roasted shrimp…

This place is really good. Weekends, bottomless Mamosas; the best time to go. The breakfast Calzone is my favorite, I am a regular visitor.
- Pros: Bottomless Mamosas
- Cons: Cant find any yet
Perfect Date Spot!
by MegsInTheCity
I have been dating in Dallas for over a year now, and Taverna is my all-time favorite restaurant to go on a date! Whether you are looking for a cozy, romantic place to take your significant other or looking to impress a first date, look no further than Taverna. The food is incredible (the risotto is to DIE for!), the wine selection is great, the service is impeccable and the ambiance is unbeatable! Located in Uptown, you'll be close to several great bars for after dinner drinks (assuming the date goes well). Get there early if you don't want to wait for a table - seating is limited. But trust me, it is well worth the wait!
- Pros: The romantic atmosphere
- Cons: You may have to park a block or two away and walk
