The very best hotel in Dallas. I wanted to share our wonderful experience at the Mansion on Turtle Creek with everyone. This is a high end hotel but very warm and friendly. Shane the bellman made sure to give us each a bottle of cold water when we were retriving our car. One day the battery on our car died and Mary, the concierge, quickly came to our aid making an annoying situation as pleasant as it could be. We loved the afternoon sugar cookies in the Lobby each day. Not to mention the wonderful bed and bed linens - we actually inquired into buying a mattress. And we loved the the full size Lady P amenities in the room. The entire staff was so welcoming that it was hard to leave. Can't wait for our next stay.
Absolute best restaurant in Dallas.
We did not know that the main dining room was closed for renovations. But what a wonderful experience anyway. They have set up the dining room in temporary space and it was delightful. The service as well as the food was magnificent. We can not wait until they finish the work on the dining room so that we can
return. It is worth a trip to Dallas to eat at The Mansion.
GREAT night at the Mansion !. The new menu and the new chef are doing wonders for the tired old Mansion.......who could eat one more lobster taco. The injection of new life, a new amazing menu, the best seafood in Dallas, mixed with the old world elegance and great service. one word excellent
best food in dallas. Love the new menu, great food seems more like NYC then Dallas, good for the Mansion, good for Dallas
new menu is a big sucess, great fresh seafood in Dallas Yahoo !.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN,
Love the new menu, can not wait to see how your new direction will play it self out over the next few months. Bye bye southwest, hello new American, one of the best meals I have ever had, you must try the tasting menu......abalone with uni butter and caviar is all that and more.........yummy!
new chef new life.
I have been eating at the mansion for 10 years, It is about time they changed the menu !
The new chef has just started, and the food is already better then any restaurant that I know in Dallas.
Now all they need to do is renovate, which I understand is on the way! Bravo Mansion, great food execellent choice of chef, waiting for the new decor.

Absolute Perfection. The Mansion, inside and out, was absolutely elegant and extravagant. The restaurant offers complimentary valet parking. Water options include Evian, Pellegrino, or regular. Service was absolutely impeccable, we must have been waited on by at least half a dozen different people. Silverware was changed out for each course and food was served course after course without hardly any delay. Awesome wine list. Memorable dishes include chicken tortilla soup and lobster tacos. And you get complimentary cookies in your car when you get it back from the valet guys!
Avoid. There in 1988 and last winter and has gone downhill since. Lobster Taco tasted like Red Lobster's but only $18.00 more. Overrated.
Special Birthdays. The food is wonderful whether you are having cocktails in the cozy bar (order the multi-level tray of appetizers), or in the (dress code engorced) fine dining room. Chef Dean has moved on, but has trained this staff. His Lobster Taco, and Burgundy Pork Chop are wonderful. Tell them it is a birthday when making the reservation, and when you order desert they do it special. They will write Happy Birthday at the top of the plate, and your name at the botton in liquid chocolate. Special for you. Cozy, old world charm. Just classy. Service is wonderful. IOne of my fave places for cocktails, or dinner. I have never seen waiters in cowboy boots (must ahve been special), or been rushed or hovered over. I live in Dallas so I go there once a year or more. Great location to begin an evening of entertainment.
Save your money!. We chose to dine on Chef Dan Fearing's renowned food on Valentine's Day and had the special five-course menu. The Mansion itself was a disappointment-it consisted of a "Mansion" with a pastel-colored tower grafted onto its side! TACKY! As for the restaurant, the food and service was terrible. We felt both hurried and rushed...they were hovering, and tried to take our plates away three times while we were still eating! We had planned a special night lingering over a special meal but were hustled in and out the door in slightly more than an hour! The food was, in a word, awful. The predominant seasoning in all of the savory dishes was salt! The damage? In excess of $450 for the two of us - the single most expensive meal that I have had, and one of the worst. SAVE YOUR MONEY and TIME!
