Editorial Review for La Duni Latin Café – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
Textured walls, wrought-iron chandeliers and sueded leather booths give the place an invitingly rustic, yet contemporary, feel. The menu is upscale, but unpretentious, with a variety of casual, traditional sandwiches and fresh salads offered alongside modern renditions of enchiladas, carne asada and fish quesadillas. Favorites include tender slow-roasted pork loin on a popover with mojo, greens, avocado and tomato. Weekend brunch means sweet treats, with house-made breads and pastries, orange brioche French toast and rum-banana-nut bread.

I took my father to La Duni for lunch recently, he is from Peru, and we both loved it! He is a huge fan of Lomo, and the slow roasted lomo sandwich was perfect. The Yuca fries were a perfect compliment, as well as the Pisco Sour. We were so full, we did not get a chance to try a dessert, but we plan to return with that in mind. My only complaint is the parking, of all things. It does not seem necessary to utilize valet parking, when there are spaces available as you pull up. And to pay $4 to babysit my keys, and simply reverse out of the space for us seemed like a scene from an episode from a sitcom (maybe Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld, etc). Anyway, this would not stop me from returning, although I might park elsewhere next time...
Pros: food
Cons: parking parking parking

You wouldn't think this place looks this great from the outside when there's a car wash next door. Inside is a completely different experience. Try the Peguna tacos...it's almost like the meat that was eaten in a dream I once had. Very tender and carefully marinated meat. The mojito was a winner. Duce should take a number from your drink. I could still taste the grainey-ness of the sugar in my drink. Perfectly muddled limes. Check check. With that, I knew the drink was freshly made and not some "mojito-in-a-box." My partner in crime had the pollo con brocoli. I thought this dish would be another americano dish, but surprisingly the chicken was extremely juciy for the breast portion cut. The piece de resistonce was dessert. The leche cake wasn't un leche, wasn't dos leche, wasn't tres leche, but CUATRO leches. This f-ing thing is so da-yeem good that I've gone there THREE (3) times this week. The cake...the meringue, the secret cuatro leche (condensed milk.) This place is going to see me many times in the near future as 24hour fitness.
Pros: Un leche, dos leche, tres leche & CUATRO leche. Ambience, great SALSA & CHIPS, people (hot) sightings
Cons: 50,000 calories in 1 sitting, parking, 1 person bathroom - girl fighting me for men's room
