Going to this spa was literally a nightmare experience. Brianna is a terrible esthetician. It was the worst facial of my life. It is now over 2 months since I had the facial with her that caused scarring on my skin. Her extractions are hard and aggressive to the point it scarred my skin. The scars can’t even be covered with makeup.

This spa is unclean and unsanitary. Brianna massaged my hair then massaged my face while my pores were open after a warm compress. This caused an infection underneath my skin. She never washed her hands or used gloves. After the scalp massage she immediately touched my face with dirty hands and did extractions. This unsanitary practice caused bumps underneath my skin that lasted for over two months. One of the bumps can still be felt underneath my skin.

On top of this, if it couldn’t get any worse-I faced racial discrimination at this spa. I am Middle Eastern. When I walked into the spa I wasn’t greeted appropriately and I was not offered water. The White person who walked in immediately behind me was treated differently and was offered water.

I contacted the owner regarding what happened and he called me a liar. I couldn’t believe it. How insulting and offensive when I am dealing with real, legitimate issues. He threatened me and told me I was forbidden to post my experience on social networking sites. Apparently he is afraid of the truth being exposed, so I am sharing my experience with the community because this happened to me. It is a true story and it is in your best interest to never go to this spa or have a facial by Brianna because she will damage your skin. Also, their own employees Brianna and Annie said their products cause allergic reactions. Beware.

Going Down Hill.... I have been going to Spa Habitat since 2009. I've been to both the Uptown and Plano locations. I can say this about their services:

Organic back therapy: so-so, not the best massage, the pampering part was great

Flower Power Facial: Typical

Ultrasonic Facial: Amazing, out of this world, does wonders for my skin!

Bikini Wax: Painful

Annie is by far the best at facials. She offered great advice and seemed genuinely concerned about helping me look my best.

And yes, they do push products on you. However, if not for this tactic I would have never discovered In Fiore. It is high priced but is an amazing product.

Generally, with the ultrasonic facials they use this product on me at my request, no problem. As I was once told, if you are getting one of the most expensive facials on the menu you should use the best products we have. During my last facial I was informed it would be an additional $20 to use that line of product (despite the fact I use it at home and always purchase from you?!) Putting my facial up to $160? No thanks! We used Clovertree instead. Further, I think the woman who worked on me was a massage therapist. She was clumsy (banging stuff around, hitting my table with her chair, dropping items), did not offer to do extractions, and did not follow the usual pattern of using the ultrasonic machine...but she gave one heck of a neck and shoulder massage.

With that said, I feel like I paid $140 for a so-so facial. If I can find another spa in the area that offers ultrasonic facials I would definitely go elsewhere.

Spa Habitat. I went to spa habitat for Mother's Day, and took my mom and sister along with me for a spa day. It turned out to be a big disappointment. I read the reviews of people's experience at spa habitat and thought this must be a great spa. We arrived about thirty minutes before our appointment time and was greeted with a smile and a warm neck pillow, however we went to set and fill out paperwork and staff was running around like they were overwhelmed and one of them had a really nasty attitude. It was hard to relax, the place was overbooked and did not have adequate space for clients to sit and be comfortable. When it came time for mines and my sister massage we were rushed. I felt as though I was rubbed down with oil instead of massaged. There's a BIG difference in a rub down and a massage. I found the prices to be extremely high for the quality you get. Overall this place was a little below average for me, there are good places in Plano where you can get a great massage for a cheaper price.

Spa Habitat=painful massage and rude receptionist. I found Spa Habitat through Spa Finder after receiving Spa Finder gift certificates from friends. I loved the idea of things being "natural". I scheduled a massage at the location in Dallas and called to ask for directions after parking. The receptionist sounded annoyed. She maintained this attitude of annoyance with me when I arrived (on time). I have never had a unpleasant massage before going to Spa Habitat, but the massage I got there was PAINFUL, and the girl who gave it to me was as unfriendly and snobby as the receptionist. Such a dissapointment. I have had wonderful experiences at the Aveda Spa on Park Lane as well as the RedDoor Spa across from Northpark. Even massage schools have better massage therapists. I will NEVER return.

Ridiculously Overpriced!. I have been to several day spas in the collin county area and this is one of the most expensive places in the metroplex. The massages are overpriced and they are no better than any other day spa.

If you are on a budget then this is not the place to go.

This person recently posted a positive review for one spa, and negative reviews for four other spas in Collin County. This is clearly a fake review from the competition in an attempt to get our star rating down, and we will have it removed.

Fantastic Organic Massage!. I have been to Spa habitat and agree that this is an amazing place. The massage and aroma therapy that is provided is top notch. I love the organic aspect of this spa because since everything seems so toxic these days, the last thing I want massaged into my body is toxins! The organic products are hard to find, so I find the offerings convenient and fantastic. I would highly recommend this to any of my Yoga gals that are looking for a great spa with all natural products. Thank you Spa Habitat for being here in Dallas for us.

Worst spa experience ever!. Worst massage I've ever had. They push products on you. I felt forced to buy and now regret it dearly. Very overpriced products and they didn't work. The whole experience was bad.

We believe this is a fake review. (Publicly posted reviews like this are often from the competition.) We do not have any history of this name or a similar name visiting our spa, and there are no details listed. Please contact owners@spahabitat.com if this is a real complaint. Thank you.

The massage was the best!. I DID Try the massage and it was the best! This is a beautiful victorian that looks like it was hand picked out of Montery and plopped in the middle of Plano. A peaceful and quiet atmospher with fantastic products. Excellent service and holistic approach to what seems to be a very un organic area these days. Thank you Sap Habitat, it was fantastic!

Waste of money.... I received a $100 gift certificate for my birthday and was very excited about getting the best facial ever. I got a little turned around on the way there because I am new to Plano. I called and they said, no problem, come anyway, so I figured she still had time to do my full appointment. I was disappointed when I found that the facial was cut very short because she had someone else coming right after me. I was the one who ran late, but didn't expect to be charged for the full facial when it was cut so short. Also, the extractions were done by hand, not with an instrument, which isn't as effective and can irritate the skin around where you have an extraction. For such a pricey place, I expected the best. I purchased a product to fade the minor discoloration on my face away. A very tiny bottle for $45! I have finished it and it didn't work a bit. The whole experience was a waste of money. I wish I'd tried the massage instead. Maybe that would have been better.

We do have a strict policy that if you arrive late, we must still end your appointment on time, so as not to reduce the appointment time of the next guest. While we'd love to make accomodations, it's not fair to have the next guest's massage or facial cut short, because you did not arrive on time. I hope you understand. --- Regarding extractions, they can be done by a gloved hand or an instrument, depending on the situation. Our experienced estheticians will typically stay on the conservative side and use hands if possible. Tools actually have a greater likelihood of damaging pores and causing broken capillaries. We also use organic products which are great for the skin and are very effective in bringing to the surface any skin imperfections so that the pore can be gently cleaned.

harldy worth the money. I spend $200 on a massage for me and my boyfriend and was mistakenly thinking this was the place to take him. He never had massage before. I asked for deeper pressure and never got it my boyfriend said his neck hurts worse than what it did when we showed up. Very disgusted!!

If you feel the pressure is not satisfactory, please simply tell the therapist, and they will make an adjustment. Our standard couples massage includes a Swedish (relaxation) massage, with hot stones applied to the back as well. We also have a specific "deep pressure massage" for those that want much deeper work, but this must be specified ahead of time, so we can assign the proper therapist for that treatment.
