Editorial Review for Angelo's Italian Grill – by Nathan Stull
The Scene
This small, popular restaurant has a couple areas for dining. The front room, with painted, aged walls and a view out the window is brighter during lunch. Toward the back, the feeling is more private, with red brick and lower lighting. Patrons range from first dates to families coming for dinner. The small lobby area fills up on weekends. Servers are attentive and knowledgeable.
The Food
The menu is classic Italian fare. Bread on the table is enjoyed best with the noteworthy tomato sauce. The Nickerbocker pizza's homemade sausage is the highlight of the meat medley that also comes loaded with cheese, Canadian bacon, pepperoni and ground beef. Seafood dishes excel, such as the scampi fettuccine Alfredo--the blissful cream sauce goes beyond the standard. For dessert, the tiramisu is a rich can't-miss, as well as a fun dish to share.

My husband and I along with two of our good friends had dinner at Angelo's yesterday evening. We will not be going back! For the price you can find much better food and service at any other Italian restaurant in Dallas. We were rarely able to speak with our waiter; we constantly had to send the busboy to find him. What should have been a quick dinner ended up lasting almost 2 hours because we were constantly having to track down our waiter. Go somewhere else if you want to have a nice dining experience ... this place is not worth your time or money.

I found Angelo's to be a friendly and unpretentious, casual but nice enough to make a meal feel a little special. You can show up at the door and know that you'll get a table before too long. The food is exceptional and this is where you want to eat Italian food, the only problem is how to stop eating, from the bottomless pile delivered to your table by professiona waiters who are efficient in making your meal a very nice dining experience. All in all it's a great place to eat with great service, and I can't wait to eat their again.
Pros: The food, the service, and the reasonable prices.
Cons: None that I can think of.
