Editorial Review for Press Box Grill – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
Dark-wood paneling, red brick and dim lighting create an atmosphere akin to the neighborhood bar in the popular TV sitcom "Cheers." White-collar types from the nearby office towers zip in for a quick bite of lunch. Less-harried patrons warm the bar stools enjoying a cold pint. The burger melt, grilled meat and onions covered with melted cheese and served on marbled rye bread, is juicy and not too greasy. Soups and salads are also available.

From the fish sandwich to the chicken fried steak to the tuna melt - YUM! This is one downtown bar/restaurant where no one is putting on 'airs' - and they don't have to - what they offer speaks for itself! Real, genuine, friendly staff, amazing food (I mean everything on the menu is fantastic), great bar selection, super-clean and plasma screen TVs scattered throughout - it's all there. And the prices are way reasonable. I've been there during peak lunch rush times and on several occasions have watched the Mavs games there in the evenings - always entertaining. This is a perfect downtown location to meet before/after a game or concert - hang with friends - watch a game - without having to compromise food/service quality. I highly recommend. We even used the place for a private party/reception - all our guests (approx. 100?) were AMAZED. Press Box Grill - corner of Elm/Ervay.

Pros: Food, service, atmosphere, location!

Cons: Don't forget to pay your meter! Still cheaper than lot parking.
