Sunset Lounge

BEST MUSIC IN DFW. My friends and I(6 girls, 4 guys) recently discovered Sunset Lounge on a Saturday night after being annoyed by all the D-Bags and Plastics at the other bars. This place was our savior! At about 11:30 I was surprised to see a line. Hate lines, but the place MUST be that good. After a 10 min wait and a friendly conversation with the bouncers(Cody and Cortez) I was in. The layout and presentation of the place reminded me of alot of clubs in NYC and Chicago. Almost pitch black, if it wasnt for the orange and red lighting. The base of the bar alomost acts like the sun as bright as it is. Very very cool. The lounge was slightly full, but you could easily move from one area to the next. The girls would come and go from the patio to the restroom and we would not ever realize they had left. Making your way to the inside bar was simple. Even if the bartenders were 3 or 4 customers deep, they took care of me within a couple of minutes. Those guys are fast. Especially the Asian looking guy in the middle! He and the two other girls were having as much fun as the customers. You were always greeted with a smile and they remembered my drink AND last name. Thats pretty amazing considering theirs 300 people in there. I understood why the bartenders were having so much fun after awhile. The music is AMAZING. Absolutely the BEST IN DFW. The DJs name is DJ TEK-NEEK. He is an artist. All these other clubs in Dallas have what I like to call them "ipod djs". They just play one top 40 hit after another and call it a night. This guy is really in tune to the crowd and knows how to almost manipulate them. I dont think Ive EVER been to a "lounge" where %80 of the people are dancing their butts off. Its all because of Tek-Neek. Some of the songs that he played were chopped, screwed, and turned into greatness. Whenever someone can turn Bon Jovis "You Give Love a Bad Name" and merge it with Lil Jons "Shots" and have the whole club go nuts, youre doing something right. Needless to say, the girls NEVER left the dance floor and by the time the lights came on, we were all drenched in sweat. All of us will keep coming back until they close this place down. Great Place, Fun Time!. I recently visited Sunset Lounge and had a blast! I was there for a bachlorette party and could not have asked for a more fun laid back atmosphere! The staff was great from the guys at the front door to the bartenders, waitress', even the bus boys were friendly! The drink prices are good and I had one of the bartenders specialty shots with torched cherry rum...mmmmm DELICIOUS, look for the girl with brown hair I think her name is Melissa! I recommend this spot to everyone! I will be back many more times to come!…

WORST BAR/CLUB IN DALLAS--fraud charges, bad service, AWFUL. Terrible, awful bar AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Where to begin...we went for a birthday because we heard it had good music & was a fun classy dance place. WRONG! The bouncers were rude & thuggish, the bartenders were rude, made terrible drinks & openly ignored customers to take shots at the bar. Rolling eyes at customers, giving the wrong change, etc. The music, the crowd & vibe were random and questionable at best. Weird unattractive criminal like people everywhere you felt like your wallet was about to be stolen all night AND FINALLY to top it off they charged my credit card 3 times for an amount that was much much higher than the one I signed. I called 5 times and left 3 messages and NO ONE EVER RESPONDED. I had to file charges with my bank. Not to mention it was seedy and felt really dangerous. DO NOT GO TO THIS BAR!…

went because i heard the drinks were good. I don't think i'll be going back to this bar anytime soon. Parking was terrible and the wait staff kind of sucked when i was there. Maybe i just went on a bad night. But i probably wont be going back.…
