Why do I keep going back?.
The late night hours and great location kept luring me back to one bad experience after another. But after my last visit, the dirtiness of the restaurant killed any hope of reconciliation between my love and hate relationship with this place.
FOOD: Sloppy, cold and greasy. Although it used to be good around 2 years ago.
SERVICE: Among the worst you can find in Dallas. Cashiers are rude and pushy. Slamming credit card on counter + annoying "I'm too cool for school" attitude = typical experience at Village Burger.
Don't think I'll be back soon.
Nope, not again.. I have visited the Village Burger Bar on two occasions. The service and the food were bad both times! I have a problem with ordering at the counter. The counter service is probably the poorest in Dallas. Whataburger and DQ give better service! The area around the bar and counter is very congested and annoying. The guys behind the counter are slow and unfriendly. If they are paid minimum wage, it is too much! Their attitude proves their displeasure for their job. Nope, not again. Not ever again.
My Favorite Spot in Dallas.
Well, I don't know what people they met, but Tony the bartender is the coolest guy ever. Everytime I go in, he remembers me and talks to me. The staff is my FAVORITE part because of him.
I guess the price for a burger is a bit much, but for the atmosphere, I feel like i'm in a fancy club. I'm a broke college student but I always come on a Friday night for the half off margarita. I come alone with a notebook because it's nicely lit, quiet, and soothing music plays. I now go once a week, once two days in a row. It's by far my favorite place in Dallas. The shakes are also ridiculously good and at a great price. The Small house salad was big to and at a good price.
I'm glad it stays open late. My first time? It was the only place open after I get out of work at my late night Blockbuster job. I work at Blockbuster and I can afford this place? SO CAN YOU!
Soggy, sappy, W/ deep pockets. Staff has a very snooty attitude. they swear they are all high end since thet're in WV. It's lost it's magic and reminds me of the new old West end District. While the atmosphere is sleek, the staff counters that with an insincere and impersonal attitude. Good burgers come and go and this place can surely be let go. The Mojitos were the best thing on the menu. The greens inside my burger were weathered and soggy. While the blue cheese that I requested was more of a dressing than the scripted crumbles. Left some shades on the table as well as a phone. When I realized it not 5 minutes later, the boys who bussed our table had no idea where it was, since my party was the last to leave it made for a terrible experience. Would reccomend Hunkeys Snookies or Snuffers for a good burger. Try Nandinas for an even better Mojito.
Has really gone downhill.. I used to love to go here for a burger by lately this place has been very disappointing. The attitude of the staff has always been a little annoying, but now has turned downright rude. I may still have been able to overlook that is the food quality was what it once was. The meat is very "gritty" now, and the burgers often come out over cooked. The famed sweet potato fries are also frequently served cold, as if they have been sitting around. Seems like the people who run this place have spent too much time reading their own press.
New favorite Late Night Dining Spot. Village Burger Bar is our new favorite late night dinning spot. The food is excellent, the service is top-notch and the atmosphere is very relaxing. We've had a lot of burgers around Dallas, and these are by far the best we've eaten. The sweet potato fries are amazing, so don't miss them. They have a full bar, great deserts and free wi-fi. This is a great place to have a drink while enjoying a reasonably priced meal. We will definitely be coming back.
Wow. So I am a pretty picky burger eater and I wanted to go to Goff's but my buddy told me to try this place so we did. It was amazing. Its clean, fast and one of the best burgers I have ever tasted. I was impressed. I am surprised the line wasnt through the door. Also there is a Paciugo right by it which is also delicous. My only problem with the place is parking.
Great place to sit outside!. Awesome shoestring fries!!! I had a panini that was incredible... Great casual place to sit on the patio. Going to try the burgers next time...they looked great! :-))
they close too early!. Stopped in here because the menu looked nice, only to find out that they close rather early on Friday nights. However, the very nice bar staff stuck around to serve us a few beers, so they definitely get aa thumbs up from me on that!!
Great food but the service not as good.. Village Burger Bar has some of the best hamburgers I myself have ever had, not to mention their sweet potato fries! The one thing that keeps this place from being Highly Recommended by me.....their service. The people behind the register are very short with you. Ask a question and they look at you like you just spoke to them in a foreign language. Ask them to repeat something and forget it, you get the eye roll, and a sigh. A couple of times, I have waited 20-30 minutes for my food during slow hours, when it only takes 5-10 during busy hours....Great food....Bad Service..... Sorry guys!
