What People Are Saying About Village Burger Bar

In Short – Sleek as a loft with poured cement floors, yet comfortable, this burger spot comes from husband-wife Mike and Susan Matta, who owned a branch of Celebrity Bakery before striking out on their own. They use fresh-ground beef, not frozen, and unique toppings: cheddar, Swiss, or blue cheese with avocado and bacon. The menu also has panini sandwiches, mesclun-mix salad, and housemade apple praline pie. Sweet potato fries are nearly as popular as the regular shoestring.
Nope, not again.

I have visited the Village Burger Bar on two occasions. The service and the food were bad both times! I have a problem with ordering at the counter. The counter service is probably the poorest in Dallas. Whataburger and DQ give better service! The area around the bar and counter is very congested and annoying. The guys behind the counter are slow and unfriendly. If they are paid minimum wage, it is too much! Their attitude proves their displeasure for their job. Nope, not again. Not ever again.
- Pros: Burgers are greasy sloppy mess.
- Cons: Service is slow, cold and chaotic!
My Favorite Spot in Dallas
by PilotKelson
Well, I don't know what people they met, but Tony the bartender is the coolest guy ever. Everytime I go in, he remembers me and talks to me. The staff is my FAVORITE part because of him.
I guess the price for a burger is a bit much, but for the atmosphere, I feel like i'm in a fancy club. I'm a broke college student but I always come on a Friday night for the half off margarita. I come alone with a notebook because it's nicely lit, quiet, and soothing music plays. I now go once a week, once two days in a row. It's by far my favorite place in Dallas. The shakes are also ridiculously good and at a great price. The Small house salad was big to and at a good price.
I'm glad it stays open late. My first time? It was the only place open after I get out of work at my late night Blockbuster job. I work at Blockbuster and I can afford this place? SO CAN YOU!
- Pros: Service, Setting
- Cons: Alot of the customers are douchey and snobbish, but they are all drunk so maybe that's why

Staff has a very snooty attitude. they swear they are all high end since thet're in WV. It's lost it's magic and reminds me of the new old West end District. While the atmosphere is sleek, the staff counters that with an insincere and impersonal attitude. Good burgers come and go and this place can surely be let go. The Mojitos were the best thing on the menu. The greens inside my burger were weathered and soggy. While the blue cheese that I requested was more of a dressing than the scripted crumbles. Left some shades on the table as well as a phone. When I realized it not 5 minutes later, the boys who bussed our table had no idea where it was, since my party was the last to leave it made for a terrible experience. Would reccomend Hunkeys Snookies or Snuffers for a good burger. Try Nandinas for an even better Mojito.
- Pros: Like the WC. Its clean
- Cons: Small with a careless attitude
