In Short – Each Mi Cocina location is designed differently in an effort to match the neighborhood's vibe. The Tex-Mex menu also offers interior Mexican dishes. In addition to tacos, tamales and enchiladas, some seafood choices are available as well. Meal options include sizzling fajitas using well-balanced seasoning and plenty of lime. Tender chopped pork and fresh vegetables fill a crunchy corn taco. Servings are generous, but not overwhelming.
Good food, Horrible Service

I used to go here all the time with friends and order quesadillas and they were great. One Sunday after a movie, a friend and I came there at 9:40pm to grab a couple of mambo taxis before we leave (they close at 10). We werent planning on staying there after 10, and they told us they couldnt serve us because they were closed, when it was clearly another 20 min until they closed. Others were ordering extra mambo taxis and even extra food. When I asked them about it, they said they were already inside. I couldnt believe it, they werent even closed yet. My friend rarely comes to Dallas, so I felt really bad for her. I was so furious, I am completely boycotting there restaurants from now on!
- Pros: Food, very gimmicky
- Cons: Service
Overall, solid, consistently good tex mex. Just avoid the steak items.

I live across the street from this Mi Cocina, and like all of Mico's restaurants (Taco Diner / Mainstream Seafood / Mercury Grill), the decor is fantastic, the service top notch, and the food is consistent. Standouts to me are the Mole Chicken -- either standalone or the enchiladas. I also love the egg dishes -- great chilaquiles and chorizo with eggs. People often overloaks those, but they're great if your more in the mood for something brunch like. As mentioned in the title, I'd suggest avoiding steak dishes -- they tend to overcook and the quality of the meat isn't always the best. Chicken fajitas and grilled items, however, are stellar. If you're craving steak fajitas, go to Uncle Julios. I love their margaritas, but, frankly they overcharge for them ($8) and pack them with ice. Annoying. Mico should know better. In all other respects, however, it's a great restaurant. Get to know the people working there, and you're treated like family.
- Pros: Grilled chicken dishes, mole, egg dishes
- Cons: Go elsewhere for steak dishes
