Editorial Review for Zea WoodFire Grill – by Teresa Gubbins

In Short
Zea has a clean, open feeling that's modern but not cold; earth-tones with use of wood and stone. The bar and patio features a fireplace and cozy couches. This Louisiana chain expanded its repertoire with a wood-fire grill. The menu offers juicy, herb-seasoned meats, chicken, and ribs (solo or in combo platters). Starters and sandwiches such as hummus and pressed panini show worldly flair while seafood is mostly Southern-Creole such as redfish with shrimp etouffee.

This was the first time that my hubby and I had eaten at Zea's and is now a favorite!! The food is all excellent, perfectly seasoned , reasonable pricing, great atmosphere. We started out with the Duck empanadas which were amazing, I followed that with the duck entree which was the best duck i have tasted in a very long time. My hubby had the rottiserie chicken and meat combo which he loved. On the side, their signature grits , cabbage and sweet potatoes. We also had a bottle of French wine and finished off with the crackling berry dessert. To top off a great meal we enjoyed the fantastic music from the live band.

Pros: food, atmosphere

Great Martinis. Excellent salads. I had the pesto encrusted trout, my wife had the salmon. Both were superb. The corn grits are to die for and the cracklin berry dessert was wonderful. We will be going back. P.S. The prices are not out of sight.

Pros: Great food

Cons: Difficult to get to from the north or east
