In Short – Black tables and chairs offset the open window feeling inside this bar. While the interior provides plenty of seating with views of the televisions (expect sports), the main draw here is the large patio outside, complete with misters and umbrellas for staying cool. Bands set up stage on the patio. The traditional American menu features burgers and sandwiches at prices straight from the '70s. Side options range from cheese fries to the ever-elusive tator tots.

HORRIBLE service!!!

by brittanystroud

I came in a large group who was consistently ignored for 2 hours straught. All we wanted was to watch a football game on one of their outdoor tv's and they wouldn't put it on or take the umbrellas down (at night) so we could even see the tv's!! Staff acted like we were constantly inconveniencing them as did the manager!!! I was sorry to have recommended we go to Jake's and will ONLY order out from now on. SO DISAPPOINTED!

  • Pros: Great Food

Among the best burgers in town

by CSMobileUser

Jake's is one of the best burgers I've ever had. The restaurant may look like a dive as you drive by, but take the chance because it's worth it!

Jake's: You Dissapointed Me!

by jf3001

My friends and I love Jake's food and frequent the various Dallas locations often. We love the Jake's special, fries and the laidback atmosphere!

However, last night was a bust!

We walked in with 3 people, with 10 on their way to watch the MAVS in the playoffs. Instead of a helpul staff ready to seat our party, we got a stingy, pushy manager only allowing us to be seated at a 4-top so when two more arrived we asked again for a larger table - only to get more push back.

Why so stingy on the tables? Do you not want business? I understand had the restaurant been packed out or there was a wait for tables. But mind you, there was not.

So, after struggling with the manager some more for seating as our party was arriving...in hopes of some give I threatened "we could take our business to Frankie's or Humperdink's." This was not helpful apporach because the manager didn't care at all - the manager said "ok" in a smart aleck tone.

We actually stayed, hoping to let it go and find solace in good burgers and good beer and a great game - because ultimately in the past we have all enjoyed Jake's.

So, around 10:30, the end of the third quarter the lights came up, the bar was closed, and the manager was telling people to leave. The place was full and people were ticked. We're not talking about a 5 or 6 people, we're talking 30+.

So when customers were like "what the heck? hometown team in the playoffs and you're closing?" The manager rudely said "go next door at 11pm." Which is what our group and others reluctantly did, left.

Before we left...I asked the manager for his card...he didn't have a card. So, I asked if anyone else there had a card and a snide waitress smarted off "Have you ever heard of waitresses carrying cards?"

What am I supposed to say to that? So I asked for the manager's name. Jeff Taylor, smarted.

Jeff Taylor, thanks for the less than gracious service during a hometeam MAVS game. We'll be going elsewhere for future games. Oh yeah, Jake's if you don't want fans to come and watch games at your restaurant...don't have large TV screens for watching!!

PS. Frankie's has free pizza on Tuesdays. When we drove home..people were spilling onto the street at Frankie's. Take a lesson, Jake's.
