The owner is extremely rude! ... the food is overpriced :/. I have been going to Toy's with my colleagues for a year now, and the service has deteriorated beyond belief. The owner, Toy, is an extremely rude woman, and should seriously consider getting out of the restaurant/hospitality industry. I visited the restaurant a couple of days back, and requested brown rice with one of the meals. She replied very rudely that all their dishes come with rice and it says it right there on the menu. I let this one go.

When we asked for our checks, she passed out our bills saying that she no longer accepts credit cards for charges below $10. We were at Toy's just a week before this, and many times in the last year, and she did not mention such a policy once. She brought a 6"x2" display that restaurants usually have drink specials on, and it had written on the credit card policy in tiny writing! She declared in a condescending tone that it had been on display for months. I had been tolerating her attitude for some time and had had enough so I decided to speak up. I told her this is no way to speak to customers, and we don't carry around magnifying glasses to be able to read a notice like this. Moreover, if this had been the policy for months she should have pointed it out when we visited before. Also, most of their lunch specials and dishes are priced under $10! When we told her that we didn't have cash today (having just learned about the policy), she begrudgingly said that she will just have to accept the credit card and implied it was our fault. Then she also told us that if we did not like her attitude, we did not need to return to her restaurant, in front of all the other customers! It was unbelievable that she creates a scene and insulted customers, especially as the owner of the restaurant.

That day was the first time in my life I did not tip someone.

All in all, I've had far too many awful experiences here and I will be filing a complaint with the BBB against this place.

AVOID AT ALL COST!!

Little friends running around. The food is so good that I let it slide when I saw a R O A C H running across the floor. I went back recently and saw what I hoped was the same one, but what are the odds? I really hope they do something about this, because their food is so good.

By a mile the best Thai Food around. My wife is Thai and I have been to Thailand many times and trust me when I tell you this is the best. I have eaten at every Thai place in DFW and thi one is the best. The staff dont speak English very well but who cares.

Best Thai Food in Dallas. Toy's is the BEST thai restaurant. I have lived in the DFW metroplex for 20 years and have visited countless thai restaurants. Nothing compares. It's a cozy little cafe . The food is prepared while you watch and wait patiently for the best flavors ever. I wish that I hadnt moved away. Now, its a special treat to make the 30 minute drive just to enjoy their dishes!!!

Great selection at good prices -- this is one of my standards !. This is my favorite for Thai in Dallas. Toy?s Cafe has some of the best Thai going in the area and the staff is always friendly. If your looking for something like the other ?Nuvo-Thai? restaurants in the Oak Lawn area, then this is not it! Toy?s Cafe is all about the food ? not the fancy decor. The food is always fresh and straight from the grill (in the center of the restaurant). The menu is simple, offering a good variety and selection of traditional Thai dishes. Their philosophy seems to be ?do it smaller, and do it right.? ? and they do!

Toy?s is a place that is perfect for one, or a couple or for a small group. Again, a very simple, relaxed atmosphere with the stars being the food and the service

Oh, be sure to try the Thai iced coffee ? wow !

Food not that good. The service was great, the ambience was good, but the food was not very good at all (I had Panang curry which did not taste very fresh at all). I have eaten at a 100 Thai restaurants, I am half-Thai, and I have been to Thailand. I would not recommend this place at all. There have to be places around better than this one.
