Great Service, Trustworthy, Friendly, Great Customer Service. I am hooked!!! These guys know what they're talking about and don't give you the run around like the nightmares you hear of at other shops. As a girl, they made me feel very comfortable. The lobby is very comfortable... almost as if you're walking into a living room. They give complete explanations as to what is actually wrong with your car instead of just throwing out parts that you need to replace. I highly recommend this place! Not just for oil changes, but for mechanical repairs, as well.
Bad service, will not go back. I arrived at Kwik Kar at 6308 Preston Rd. Plano, Tx, and waited at the desk for several minutes before someone appeared to help me. During that time, I noticed an old lady in a nicer car drive up and then receive preferential treatment over my car for a state inspection. Aside from apparently being overlooked because they couldn't keep someone at the front desk, there were only two cars for a state inspection on a Sunday afternoon. They took more than 1 hour (much longer than their estimate) for my car after they put her car in front. They should have someone at the desk - and queue from that desk to avoid this issue. Also, they need to speed up their state inspection. WAY too slow. Our household will never go there again.
DO NOT GO HERE@@. This place is a complete scam DO NOT GO HERE! I went in for an oil change because of its proximity to my work. SO I enter and see that the price is 36.99. Steep for an oil change, I know but its the price you pay for location. I asked the gentleman behind the counter does that include filter and he went over the inspection points included in this price. I agreed and sat on the filthy couches. About 10 minutes later a gentleman comes in with a drip tray and tells me my air filter is the wrong size and shows me my transmission fluid lol....I replied hmm interesting and that I will fix both via an auto parts store etc and just change the oil. I know there is a need for an upsale but adding a drop of motor oil to transmiss ion fluid and running into show me its dirty is pretty lame. So, I get home after buying the "correct" air filter from autozoneand find out the one I have is 100% fine fitting perfectly as an air filter should...and even matches the one in my hand? I though hmmm upsale....then I checked the fluid for my transmission perfect?? hmm not the dingy black he showed me....at this point I was wondering if they even changed the oil....so i checked that...clean (at least they got this right) and I inspected the filter...new....good but sadly they even failed here...my oil was about 2/3 a court low....wtf.....WELL the best part of my visit was when they gave me my bill they included "SHOP SUPPLIES" for 2.99. I didn't want to argue with the guy over 3 dollars but really what in the hell could they have used that cost 3 dollars? FORGET THIS PLACE AND ITS SORRY SERVICE......I put a complaint in the corp email but I doubt that gets me much...ALL I CAN DO IS TELL YOU DON'T GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good guys. I have taken my 1998 Cadillac Seville SLS and my 2005 Honday Odyssey to this Kwik Kar and continue to be very happy with the work and the service. They have been very honest about the work that needs to be done and the work that really doesn't. Case in point, the Cadillac started having problems with the water pump as well as several other issues common to a car with 120k on it. Although they could have easily said that X, Y and Z needed to be done and charged for a bunch of repairs, I was told straight up, "if it was my car, I wouldn't put another dime into it." More important, the one time I did have a minor issue after a repair, they quickly addressed the problem -- at no charge. Nobody is perfect but these guys are at least honest which is sadly a rare commodity these days.
Service is worthless. I have been dealing with this company for over 3 months now on a service engine soon light. I have taken my vehicle in 8 times now and they still can't fix the problem. They will take my vehicle for a day and give it back to me and within the next 2 or 3 days, the light will come on again. They know what the issue is (a cylinder #1 misfire), but can't fix it. I have had a complete tune-up, replaced the plugs, the coil, and the fuel filter all at the cost of over $700. They are so incompetent that they even took my vehicle to the dealer to find out what is going on. Where I was misinformed that they were going to have the dealer fix the issue, they only had the dealer run a diagnostic test to see the problem. IMPORTANT FACT!!!!! Your auto dealer can run a more specific test when you engine light comes on that these quick oil change shops can't. Your best bet is to go to the dealer. Might cost more, but saves you less heart ache and massive headaches/frustration in the end. TRUST ME I KNOW. So I have finally given up on Kwik Kar on Preston and going to take my vehicle to the dealer, who I know will be able to fix it; which is what Kwik Kar should have done a looooooong time ago.
I strongly disagree with these hateful people on here. I've always had WONDERFUL SERVICE going here. The owner, Lisle, actually comes out and says hi to the people in the lobby. If this guy came in ranting around all of the customers, I'd throw him out too. We're adults here!
We all know money is tight but good service and customer care is something that you pay for; "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR"!! I've gone to countless other CHEAP PLACES, but found myself coming back to this kwik kar to fix the problems the others caused.
My whole family has come to this one for at least 4 years now and all have great service!! I come to this wonderful place and continue to have wonderful service with ALL of the workers there!!

I had an oil change and a diagnostic for an engine light that wouldn't turn off. They charged $35 for an oil change and $89 to tell me what was wrong with my cylinders causing the engine light. Then they told me over the phone that my car was all done, but when I arrived they hadn't even started the oil change.
I told the owner (Lisle Budden) his prices were high and I told him that even though I knew the mechanic deserved to be paid for his time to diagnose my engine, it was still a bit frustrating to pay $89 and still drive away with a broken car. He then told me that if I found a repair shop that didn't charge a diagnostic fee he would refund my $89 fee.
Well, I took my car to Honcura in Irving and they do not charge a diagnostic fee, even if I decide to get my car repaired elsewhere after the diagnostic was performed. I provided the Preston Kwik Kar owner proof along with the phone number for Honcura and he not only refused to give me my refund per our agreement, but then banned me from his shop for complaining.
Buyer beware. The owner is dishonest and lacks any semblance of customer service skills.
This guy simply did not want to pay for a thorough and complete diagnostic of his vehicle's problems. Very interesting he takes our diagnostics to another shop who is in complete agreement with our diagnosis. What I told Scott was try to go to your Honda Dealer and see if they would perform a complete diagnostic and perform the necessary tests for FREE? I wonder if Scott would perform his professional duties for free?
Years of good service. After reading the rude gentleman's review of rude service, I felt compelled to refute. I have been going to this Kwik Kar since it opened and have had nothing but excellent and correct service. I have witness nothing but courteous service, especially to elderly women. They have given service as quick as possible given the demand (I sometimes come in Sat afternoon). Been friendly, honest and even offer a discount on car wash next door. Especially as a woman, I appreciate the good service received.
Great Service. I had a head light go out in my car and I couldn't figure out how to replace the light. So I took my car to the Kwik Kar on Preston Road in Plano. I have been using Kwik Kar for changing my oil since I bought my car last year. They were so nice and took the time to replace my light buld. Every time I do buisness at Kwik Kar they are all ways nice and do a great job.
Excellent Service!. The service is always great! These guys are fast, friendly, and accomodating. As a bonus they have an awesome waiting area!
