Crazy for Sushi Loco!. This is a very easy going place with booths along both walls and a sprinkling of casual dining tables through the middle leading up to a cozy Sushi bar. The Master Sushi Chief is really good and can whip out custom orders on request, he seems to have a never ending array of Sushi creations not on the menu and all have been Great! They have a good offering of Asian main dishes and some very American dessert offerings to compliment the meal. Service here is delightfully humorous, from

worst service ever. The sushi was Okay at best. I would definitely never go back due to the terrible service. We showed up at 620pm and noticed we were there in time for happy hour. The hostess came up and asked us if we would like any water. We said yes and we would like a drink but werent sure what we wanted yet. She came back ten minutes later at 630(ridiculous) and we put in our drink order. She said the happy hour was over at 630(she waited until it was over). She was completely rude! If you want to get out and have good service avoid this place. Such a disappointment...

Great sushi!. I cannot comment on the wait staff (we get to go orders) but the sushi is wonderful. The rolls are wonderful and they have an extensive menu for people who do not want sushi. And as for the person with the negative review-- the "fish eggs" is called masago and comes on just about every kind of sushi rolls and are rarely mentioned in the descriptions-- maybe the reviewer is very new to sushi. I had one of the bento boxes last time and although it was okay--I will stick to the sushi next time.

Great food, great service, great price. I have been going to Sushi Loco since they first opened and have NEVER had a bad experience there. The hostess is beyond friendly and remembers every repeat customer (and usually what they had to drink!). The chef makes original rolls on request. My wife and I go at least once a week, as do my parents, and her family! We love this place so much that we had our wedding reception there last year. We rented out the entire restaurant and they served us neverending platters of fresh, original rolls. Check out their Happy Hour pricing on rolls. All in all, this is my favorite restaurant experience.

Avoid at all cost!. My fiance and i went there the other day, just trying to find a new sushi place that was close by. When we got there, there was only one waitress, and as soon as we walked in she was RUDE! She took forever to take our drink order, forever to take our dinner order.. And i had to ask her a few times what was in different stuff, because some places serve stuff differently. Well i asked her what was in the "volcano" and she told me.. Well when she brought it to me, there were FISH EGGS ON IT!! No where in her description did it say any thing about raw fish eggs. So i was grossed out.. Well the volcano had a fly on it when she brought it out and she just shrugged it off. My fiance started to take the first bite of his and their was a hair. So she came over, with an attitude i might add and when we told her about the hair, she was like i don't see any hair, and we had to pull it up and show her. Well needless to say we walked out. I DON'T RECOMMEND IT!! However i have seen other people with good reviews, so who knows, maybe she just didn't like us, but there was no need for her to treat us like we were children.

Creative food, great chef but avoid the nasty hostess!. Must try the cucumber crab salad, its not on the menu but is fantastic! They have an unusual mix of rolls that are great. Bonfire on the Beach is incredible and has an awesome flavor. The Neptune's Surprise was good, but was drowned in Eel sauce that overpowered everything. Service is mediocre, the hostess/waitress does not offer any guidance or insight to selections, she can be somewhat rude even. (cant miss her and the wild hair!) We find if we can sit at the sushi bar then we can avoid her..the sushi chef is entertaining and will share details on his creations. Overall a nice place and good food.

surprisingly good. When I first moved to richardson, I avoided this place because of the wacky name. I figured it would be "texas style" sushi, whatever that is, and as such it should be avoided! However, a friend and I tried it on a whim, and we really liked it! Now we go a few times a month, and we've never had a bad experience. Plus, it's usually pretty empty, so there is never a problem finding a table!
