Dallas >Raymond Stark Salon
I just got my hair cut at the Raymond Stark Salon for the first time, and it definitely won't be the last! I couldn't be happier with the haircut I received.
First off, I tend to to leave getting my hair cut until the last minute. When I called yesterday to get an appointment, they were able to get me in early today, which I really appreciated.
Raymond was the one to cut my hair, and he was fantastic! I was a little intimidated at first given that he was the one cutting my hair (I've never had the actual salon owner cut my hair before), but he quickly set me at ease and was wonderful. He really listened to what I wanted to have done (full fringe bangs and correcting the way my ends had [previously been cut), and made some helpful suggestions. Despite not being able to express exactly what I wanted done, he was able to discern what I was going for and I wound up with the exact haircut and style that I was looking for. Raymond was a joy to work with, and I can't stop looking in the mirror at how amazing my hair looks!
He also asked me about my hair color, which for budget reasons I've recently started doing myself. He was kind enough to talk to me about coloring my hair myself, and gave me some tips to keep in mind. I really appreciated that instead of trying to push getting my hair colored there, he instead volunteered information I could use at home. Raymond is really passionate about hair, and it shows!
I usually don't make follow-up appointments at the time I get my hair cut, but Raymond did such a great job I've already made an appointment to go back. And, the next time I'm able to to get my hair colored professionally, I know that I can trust myself in Raymond's hands.
Overall, I cannot recommend this salon highly enough.
Finally got the wavy look!.
I have been trying for months to get the beachy wavy look. Styling and maintaining my hair is NOT my strong point. I like to wear my hair long, and for some reason I have difficulty conveying to stylists what it is that I am looking for. No matter what I tell them, I usually end up with dated, choppy layers or some version of the "Rachel."
During our pre-cut consultation, Gaby listened to all of my concerns and ideas, and even though I don't know the correct terminology, she understood and gave me exactly what I wanted: long, youthful layers with lots of movement! She preserved my length, yet completely updated my look. I have been trying in vain to achieve that popular beachy wavy look, and Gaby patiently taught me how to style my hair to achieve this. She showed me how to curl my hair out and also gave me instruction on a quick wash-and-wear wavy style! She is obviously up-to-date with the latest techniques. I am pretty ignorant when it comes to hair product, but fell in love with the B&B products she suggested and used on my hair. The Texture (un)dressing creme is amazing!
I got my hair cut and styled this past Tuesday and it looked so great when I left the salon, I had to find somewhere to wear it. I am writing this on Friday afternoon, and I have to say that with Gaby's styling tips I have had great hair every single day this week. Lots of compliments from my friends and coworkers!
To top it off, the salon is very nice inside and filled with original local artwork. I will definitely be back to see Gaby!

History of bad experience with this salon and should have known not to come back. Wanted my hair cut short and Raymond refused to do the cut I wanted because it was "too drastic". Came in again to fix a bad self-dye job and haircut (figured an expensive salon is the right place to do that) and they refused to bleach my hair blonde saying that it would look unhealthy and they can't condone that. Instead they charged me (in my naivety) to come back and get highlights done after they did a much darker color than I wanted. Also, I asked for an asymmetrical bob since I was complaining that my hair flipped out too much on the back of my head. She just cut shorter layers on the back of my head and barely touched the part that flips out... When the highlights came back uneven (top distinctly darker than bottom, because Gabi spent an hour doing them and did the top very last) Gabi said that it was because I've had past processes done to my hair and my temples are hotter than the top of my head ???? She said she consulted Raymond and that getting my hair to where I want it is a long process -- so they wanted to charge me even more to get it fixed. When I cut through their bull and said no, you just didn't leave the top on long enough - I've had highlights done a ton of times before... she just insisted that no, it was just kept repeating that my hair didn't take well and that it would be unhealthy to get it much blonder. She also said that I signed a waiver with the understanding that my hair might not come out perfectly. I was pretty sure that was just for my dye job since they had to do color correction - but honestly - I have never had to sign a waiver at any other hair salon before. So lets see- Raymond Stark salon doesn't want people going out with "unhealthy hair" but they are fine sending them out with blotchy highlights. And the whole waiver thing is a cop out for them too. Oh by the way, they wanted to charge extra for the blowdry on top of an $85 partial highlight job. Also, when I asked why the back of my head was also way darker- she said oo well you had partials so we only did the crown. By her definition, I guess the part of my hair that is lighter than the rest should have not been dyed then huh? "Full highlights adds the highlights to your entire head - the top and bottom layers. Partial highlights is generally just the surface where the sun would naturally hit." Hmmm I would think the sun would hit the back of my head.
Customers BEWARE! They will try to suck as much money out of you as possible and hope you are pushover.
P.S. The first time I went there, Raymond did my hair and HEAVILY pushed all of their product on me.
We appreciate the repeated confidence Stef 86 had in coming to Raymond Stark Salon to repair previous home hair color "whims" gone wrong, and to repair cuts done on a "whim" at other salons. At Raymond Stark we build long term relationships with our clients to provide quality service to meet the client's expectations. In return, we are able to deliver satisfaction to our clients. We wish Stef the very best.

Thank you Gabby!. I went to this salon after having a bad color job. My hair was orangy and brassy and not how I initially wanted it. Gabby was the colorist that helped me out. She was super nice and caring of my hair, making sure she understood what I wanted. She was able to blend it nicely and tone the orange tones down without causing damage to my hair, which I was very worried about. I'm glad I decided to go here and thank you for making my hair look good again!! :)
I Found My NEW Stylist!!!!. I absolutely loved this salon. From the moment I walked in I was asked if I wanted anything to drink, I was given 5 hair style magazines and felt right at home. Gabby was my stylist and she was terrific!!! She's a Jr. Stylist who graduated from Paul Mitchell and was an absolute delight to have working on my hair. From the start we had a mini consultation about my hair and what I had in mind and from there she gathered EXACTLY what I was looking for. Her techniques were neat and her personality was friendly! I like her index card idea, very smart IMO and with that card you know you won't be forgotten about. She wrote down new ideas and questions to follow up with me next time I see her and that was a plus for me!!! My experience @ Raymond Stark was fantastic. I love my new do!!!!!!
LOVE this salon and Loan is the BEST!.
I have been seeing Loan at Raymond Stark salon for over 10 years. I appreciate the care she takes with my hair and she helps me to find the best look for any occasion or season. She takes great pride in her work and stays on top of the latest haircut techniques and products. Loan is good about recommending new hair products to make my hair more manageable and to look flawless. The newest Bumble and Bumble mending products that I bought at my last appointment are worth every penny! Thank you Loan!
The owner, Raymond, does a nice job of keeping his salon on the cutting-edge while still promoting a friendly and open atmosphere. He makes you feel like family.

Professional and beautiful haircut. I was visiting Dallas and was recommended to Raymond's salon. Raymond cut and styled my hair and was sure to clarify with me what sort of cut I was interested in and what would work for my lifestyle. He helped me with great pointers on how to get my hair to be healthier & stylish. Also, Ramond was very meticulous with his cut (I think he spent about an hour and a half on my haircut!) which left me leaving the salon feeling very pampered. I was also treated very well by the receiptionist and assistants, and the whole experience overall at the salon was exceptional. I would say this was the best hair salon experience I have ever had, and I would recommend the salon to any friends in the Dallas area!
Great Hair at Last!. For the last six months or so, I've had Raymond Stark cut and color my hair. I have never had so many compliments! The highlights are fantastic. Also, I have never been enthusiastic about spending time in a hair salon, but Raymond's staff is invaribly nice and helpful so the time flies by. I highly recommend Raymond and the salon.
Life Saver. My teenage daughter had a last minute event to attend and needed her hair done. After going to three other salons who were unable to accommodate us, we went to the Raymond Stark Salon. Raymond immediately took charge of the situation and with his brilliant assistance and his great team, my daughter's long, curly and hard to manage hair ended up looking beautiful. Most importantly, my daughter was very happy.
