In Short – Squeezed in between the watering holes and restaurants of Lower Greenville, Society Bakery specializes in two things: artistic, creative desserts and giving back to the community. Ten percent of all the sales from the wedding cakes, specialty cakes, cookies, cupcakes and petit fours made in the cozy dessert shop go to charity. The American Cancer Society, Red Cross, Greater Dallas Boys and Girls Club and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals have all benefited from Society's sweet treats.

Best Bakery

by BelleResa at Citysearch

I love Society Bakery. I only wished I had discovered them before I had gotten married so I could have had them make my wedding cake. Their baked goods are the best. I always order birthday cakes from them- and the recipients of said cakes are always thrilled- with the flavor, moistness, design, etc. I stop by regularly for their cupcakes, whoopie pies, cookies-either for my family or to take as dessert for potlucks. Everyone I know who has tried Society is hooked on them! Now I live only 1 block from them and boy is that trouble! lol! I would definitely recommend the Brooklyn Blackout Cupcakes and order a Ding Dong cake at some point-these two items I have not seen available anywhere else---I am not a huge chocolate fan but, these two cakes are the best and make me crave chocolate! Oh, they have heavenly homemade Whoopie Pies! ---to die for!!!! Got to get some of those too!! Of course, everything there is wonderful and oh! their frosting is so good! Not that weird, overly sweet stuff that is on some grocery store cakes. If the service is ever off I have not noticed because the cakes are so worth it. Actually, I have always been pleased with the service. Plus, they give a free cupcake on your birthday! Okay! I need to walk over and get a yummy Italian Cream cupcake now that I have a craving from all this Society Bakery talk........

  • Pros: Consistent, high quality baked goods
  • Cons: parking

I'm so HAPPY you are in Medical City Hospital!

by ROMH at Citysearch

I just found out you opened a new location in Medical Ciry Hospital and I'm jumping for joy! You are much closer to me now!

I don't know what I like more - the bread pudding whoopie pies or the chocolate chip cookies or the red velvet cupcake or wait - the m and m cookies, or maybe the italian cream cupcake, or maybe the lemon squares. I'm drooling at the mouth right now.

  • Pros: most AMAZING sweets in the WORLD
  • Cons: my expanding girth

IN LOVE WITH YOUR SWEETS!

by RebecaM at Citysearch

Beyond the amazing sweets and display cakes, the service is attentive, courteous, charming, and welcoming!!

The Pecan Praline Cupcake is to die for, oh and the giant M&M cookies are awesome, I love to microwave them and have glass of cold milk, gotta try this!! I mean for the TEXAS SIZE of their sweets, their prices are very reasonable.

Definitely...they know what they serve and how to do it!

  • Pros: Awesome costumer service and cupcakes
  • Cons: Not open 24 hours :(

Not helpful at all

by michiet05 at Citysearch

I called Society Bakery today to see if they could make a cake for a wedding shower this Saturday. I do realize it is late in the game to be ordering a cake but I wanted to give them a call because I had heard good things about the cakes and the images on the web site look good as well. When I called I was informed that they just stopped taking orders for Saturday - no biggie as I expected that may be the case. However, when I asked if there was another bakery in the area they could recommend that I try I was told they do not recommend any other bakery and I'd need to search for one on my own. Based on the attitude I received from the lady on the phone I will find another place to go for not only this cake but every other one I'll ever need.

  • Pros: I've heard good things
  • Cons: Rude staff
