Awesome Job Great Windows. Last year I had Acme install windows for me on my 1952 Bungalow in Preston Hollow. I had several estimates including Champion that you see on TV all the time. The windows he offers are made right here in Dallas for the Texas heat, just like Champion. I would say the construction, features and various energy efficiency ratings were also on par with Champion. The catch was that Breck was much cheaper. His bid was less than theirs was, and they were giving me 50% off, this week only...and I hate it when sales people pull that. Needless to say ACME got the job.

I really like Breck the owner, great guy. He even talked me down on a couple of windows. I was going to get two sets of double hung inward opening windows and he mentioned I could save a lot of money by just getting a large slider which is fixed on one side and slides open on the other. Turns out they work great and actually give me more window opening and don't have the large pieces through the middle horizontally so you get a better view out the window. The energy ratings are better too. He also talked me down on a couple of single windows, instead of the double hung again, just get single hung with a fixed top window. If it's not really necessary, why spend the extra money again the energy ratings were better. He could have made more money on me if I had purchased the more expensive ones but chose to let me save instead. It's not often that you get a sales guy doing that. He deserves five stars just for that.

He also took on my 14 foot by 6 foot triple section metal casement window when no one else would. One other company and Champion both wanted $7500 - $10,000 to replace that one window. No, I am not kidding.

Breck mentioned he could knock out all the metal squares that held the glass in place and replace them with large sections for custom fit double thick glass, two pieces separated by argon gas and low-e coating all for energy efficiency and then use a commercial grade window putty to put them in the now opened up metal casement window for 1/3rd to 1/4 of the cost of a new one. I had also tried 4 years ago and didn't get any bids on it for less than $7000, no one else would fix it, and they just wanted to replace it... Breck did a fantastic job; saved me a lot of money and the windows are great.

Breck always returned my calls, was on time for appointments, showed up to do the job with everything needed to finish the job and cleaned up afterwards. And believe me, with the 60 year old metal windows I had, glass was everywhere. One window was accidentally made with the measurements backwards. He was able to have it made for me on the fly since the company is in Dallas and had it installed by the end of the second day of work.

Also, if I didn't mention it, his pricing beats anyone. I really did have a lot of bids done and the windows including Home Depot and Lowes. The ones he sells are every bit as good as the best of the best as far as vinyl replacement windows go when you compare warranty, construction and energy efficiency ratings.

It's been a VERY HOT summer, hotter than last year and I saved more than 1/3rd on my last bill. They also did very well in the cold last winter. My home is much more comfortable with no sweating windows in the winter, cold or hot spots near the windows and no more really high utility bills. Plus they just look great. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. Even in this heat with the sun shining on the window, the glass is room temperature to the touch. I noticed the same thing last winter when it was very cold out, the window glass in the room was room temperature.

I would say if you want great windows installed by a professional at an excellent price, do not hesitate to call ACME windows and speak with Breck. He will do a great job for you and your home.

A+ rated at BBB for 7 years. I have had 14 perfect years of service to my customers until I met Nancy Stephenson (nms1234). I have an A+ rating at the BBB and had never had a single complaint. What she failed to explain in the previous review is she told me to reconnect all wires to her security system and I have a receipt of her payment for that service. She failed to say that I offered to repair the holes per the factory recommended repair and she refused. She will not alllow me to call her, she has no cell phone so I cannot text her, and I do not have her e-mail address. She will not call me. How can I contact her under these circumstances. Also, the BBB has administratively closed her complaint due to her unwillingness to resolve the complaint except on her terms which are outrageous. She has stolen $4090.00 from me which I am attempting to get back through legal means. Her stories change everyday to suit her need to get free windows in her house by any means necessary. (She lies as much as necessary to get what she wants). Every business has the customer from hell, I have only had one in 14 years and she is it. Her recommendation, therefore, isn't worth much.

New Windows - Buyer Beware. I purchased new windows from Acme Glass. During the installation holes were drilled into the base of the windows to allow for wires from the security system. What I found out after the fact was that the holes were drilled into an area intended to collect water to drain out the weep holes. I now have 21 windows that leak into my walls and my manufacturer's warranty has been voided. The owner has known about this problem since November 8, 2010. It is January 3, 2011 and he has not made any attempt to work with me on the problem. In fact he has informed me that this is my fault and my problem. I do not recommend Acme Glass to any consumer. Customer service does not appear to be a priority or a concern for the owner of the company.
