Terrible Horrible Really Bad
by JEJammer
so, I working and decide to get a bite to eat for lunch. I tell a co-worker that I'm headed over to Urban Market to which he says "Good luck with that." I thought , That was odd; but carried on. I browsed the menu and opted for a Quesadilla paid for my order and sat. Three customers were behind me when I placed my order. Three customers received their orders before I received mine. Of course, the salad I expected to be served before mine but two other sandwiches with fries and garnish. No, I think not. I was not happy but I let it pass. My little blinker which notifies you when your order is ready did not blink. The counter person asked, "Did you want that to go?" Again, I responded yes, this being the second time. They take a few more minutes to prepare it to go. I am handed the quesadilla with no fries only a small container of sour cream and a small container of pico de gallo. I ask if I may have a container of BBQ sauce because the quesadilla looked dry. I counter person stated, "that will be an extra .55 cents. I scoffed but paid the cost while telling the counter person that now I understood why my co-worker made the earlier statement. All this to say, I will not use the cafe again. The store has a few items I can use but I'm done with the market. Too bad because I work in the building across the street and hoped Urban Market was a place I could go after work. Nor will I entertain guests there. My suggestion to all is stay away from Urban Market Cafe. Unless you just like giving away money.
- Pros: Conveince
- Cons: Everything else
Great grocery store, great service, one of the best in Dallas
by jross44
Urbanmarket, is a great grocery store, period. It embodies everything that an on-the-go-shopper like myself needs: Great food, convenience, location & quality service. The market is located centrally for most Downtown residents. They have great pricing that is competitive with other stores & the quality of food is exceptional. The prepared foods departed is amazing. I havent seen less than 25 great dishes to choose from, and for the cooking-impaired like myself, its a dream come true. VISIT URBANMARKET TODAY! YOU WON'T BE SORRY!
- Pros: Convenient, good prices, great food
Avoid Urbanmarket and UrbanCafe!!!
by calitodali
I don't want to bore everyone with my "stories", so I'll give you the short cut:
* Went 2 times and had a aweful experience both times
*Store has confusing layout. Bottles and drinks are stored up stairs, so one must hand-carry all drinks, down to their cart.
*Employees hide to be unavailable
*Employees recommended products without knowledge about it
*Urban Cafe - Horrible!!!! Ordered a Veggie Burger and 20 minutes later with only 1 other person ahead of me, I received a MEAT burger. Chefs meander in the kitchen like they need glasses.
* Ordered Bloody mary, gave $2 tip in order "To Insure Prompt Service" and had to remind employees 15 minutes later after we received our food.
*Oh yeah...while I'm at it...It's ALWAYS a pain getting out of the parking garage with their validation.
I will never go to the Urbanmarket or Cafe ever again. THIS STORE SHOULD CLOSE DOWN. IT SHOULD NOT RECEIVE ANY SUBSUDIES!!!!!!
For a better alternative for lunch and take-home dinner, try Two Sisters To Go Store on Gaston, 11am - 4pm M-F.
- Pros: no pros except location
- Cons: service, products, parking
