Bad service after alerting them about bad food.
First, I want to say that I am a HUGE fan of Jimmy John's. I have been a customer of this particular restaurant since they opened. They are right down the street from work, and have always been great with their food and their service. I also want to say that this review only pertains to my most recent (and possibly last) visit to this location.
Last night I went to the restaurant to get some sandwiches for a co-worker and myself. Everyone was polite, and very quick putting the sandwiches together. We both got the Beach Club, hers with no tomatoes, and mine straight up. I love the sandwich, and have had it many, many times. We both ate and enjoyed our sandwiches, until about 10-11pm that night. We both had cold sweats, nausea, cramps, etc. I have had food poisoning before, and I know how it feels.
Today, I called the restaurant just to let them know they might want to check the dates on their food to make sure no one else got sick, and to let them know what happened. Rather than having an even remotely sympathetic ear, I was basically told that it could not have been the sandwiches because "they keep a good eye on that". I was told that it could not have been the sandwiches, even though that was the only thing that we both had - and we had almost the exact same thing - because "it usually takes 24 hours to feel the effects of food poisoning". Unfortunately, I know it takes less time than that having had food poisoning a few times myself.
I was pissed that I got food poisoning in the first place, but being a big fan of the chain, I just wanted to let them know. Now, I doubt I will ever go there again due to the way I was treated on that phone call. It sucks, because I really love their food.
sandwiches. jimmy johns really surprised me , i though i was in for another potbelly's or subway. their sand whiches are the perfect size for the price they sell them for. my family and i love them!
Driver's Will Steal From You. Recently I placed a phone/delivery order with this location. I did not leave a tip for the driver. Rather, the delivery person decided to leave themself a $3 tip without my authorization. It took three days and speaking with two different managers at the store to have my money refunded. The second manager I spoke with is extremelly unprofessional. He insisted that "everything was 'cool'" several times, to which I informed him that it is not 'cool', it is illegal. Finally, he confirmed that the $3 would be refunded to my credit card. Honestly, a half-ass, unprofessional apology and a return of my $3 is the best this store can do? I had been a loyal customer since college, but I will not be returning to Jimmy John's again.
