Wear Comfortable Shoes Ladies.
Every one tells us to eat at Fireside Pies in Frisco. We finally tried it. Be ready to withstand the wait for a seat. Typical wait time is 45min to 1.5 hours! It is an extremely inviting and warm atmosphere. And watching the food come out made us desperate to try this highly raved food. The salads are shared. They are a little overdressed - I recommend the Warm TMP salad. We have only tried two pizzas so far. TThey are not stellar so we are a little confused. The crust, or at least the part that isn't soggy, is wonderful. But the middle, thin layer is just flemsy when you eat it. The Oven Samper is a great start, but skip the salad if you order this.
We can't wait until the weather warms up and we can try out the patio and a pitcher of Sangria. We're going to try it a few more times and see if we can find out favorite pizza on the list.
An Exercise in Excess. Everything on the menu here is simply too much. Whether it is too greasy (pizzas, etc.) or simply too big portions (salads that could feed five people). This place seems to think that by providing a ton of food you won't notice that it really just tastes ok. Nothing great here, but a LOT of it. I felt guilty of conspicuous consumption just being there. Oh, and it's really crowded with spoiled Plano teenagers. Fine it that is who you want to eat with, frankly not my favorites.
the BEST pizza. my husband and i are obsessed with this place. awesome crab claw appetizer, and the pizza is very thin with very fresh ingredients!! we recommend the "north beach" pizza. highly recommend it!
Favorite Pizza In Dallas. Next to a true Chicago Deep Dish pie this is my favorite pizza anywhere. All of their pizzas are made from the freshest ingredients. They use a lot of local ingredients too. The pizza are definitely gourmet and the different types have some great combinations of flavors. The wait is always long no matter what time you go, so be prepared to wait. Get one of their great drinks at the bar while you wait. The bar is usually packed so you may have to squeeze in for a drink but food this good is worth it.
Artisan pizza from Dallas' Knox-Henderson neighborhood expands to bigger digs in the north, at the Shops at Legacy in Plano..
In Short
The second branch of this artisan-pizza concept is bigger than the first, with 3,500 square feet and seating for 140 including an L-shaped patio enclosed in Austin stone. Trademark louvers have been retained, but wood floors, leather booths and a copper bar create an inviting, masculine luxury. Two wood-burning ovens work double duty on pizzas topped with premium ingredients such as Jimmy's Italian sausage and imported prosciutto; this branch also features Plano-based Henry's Ice Cream.
