Dallas >Massage Envy
Why didn't I just leave?. Had never had a massage before, so was really excited to relax & unwind… Instead had a horrific experience. Massage was PAINFUL, and when I would indicate that I was in pain, masseuse would press harder, and tell me to breathe through my mouth. She also had me press my arm against her leg, and lift my foot & knee off the table to relieve pain – felt like I was doing pilates. And then she told me to relax while I did those things. And she wondered why I couldn’t relax… My back is still in pain 2 days later (and I have a high tolerance for pain – have had 3 c-sections, and thought while on the table that that hurt worse than recovery – it’s ridiculous that I didn’t get up and leave). Also, during checkout, my masseuse stayed in the checkout area as they asked “how was your massage,” and when they asked how much I’d like to tip… I wanted to say “AWFUL,” and leave no tip, but I’m a southern girl, and am extraordinarily non-confrontational. Wish now that I’d had some backbone. There may be some good masseuses here, but it’s not worth the risk of getting one like the one I had… Avoid this place.
If you are thinking of signing a contract think again.
Hasta La Vista - I hear your pain. I actually wrote right on my contract not to renew. They charged me for another 12 months and then came back with some story about in reality how I no longer had the 4 massages because I cancelled my contract and would only be reinbursed for 7 massages.
My loss: $191.00. I think that the gift card industry experienced a class action lawsuit similar to what is being done with the massage constracts with this company. Good Luck Massage Envy. False advertising on what they provide.
The internet is a beautfil thing. Regular consumers can share their experiences so others are not taken for a ride. Not only can it be word of mouth but you can provide information to other consumers how you can be ripped off by getting into a contract with companies such as Massage envy and the Greenville location. It is pretty sad actually based on the economy.
FYI - I had to put one star but would not even give them a single star based on how they treat current customers and how they will eventually treat you if you sign a contract.
Hasta La Vista!.
First off I have to say, I love my therapist James!
He is the best Massage Therapist out there! I highly recommend him!
Second, I am extremely unsatisfied with the company as a whole and with the manager at the Greenville location.
Let me start off by saying, I am an Esthetician, I have been in the business for 6 years and have managed salons before.
Like most Americans, I got laid off at the spa I was working at and was unemployed for 3 months, I did not cancel my membership, because I understand the importance of keeping my contract. I did not however see my therapist for a while, because I believe in tipping karma and could not tip him. Because of this, I had 6 massages saved up.
When I was financially able , I went to see James, I asked the front desk how long I have to use my extra massages. I was told a month from the date on which my contract ended.
I was a little upset, since I did pay for these massages, I should be able to use them when ever. But I love James so I was going to go ahead and renew anyways.
On my last appointment I was going to call and cancel because I knew I would not be able to make it, and it slipped my mind till I got a call from the front desk. Once again, I am in the business and I work on comission, so I know how frustrating a no show can be. I loose money! But I also always waive the first no show a client has, because we all know things happen. When I called the front desk, I was told I would have to pay the full service. I was shocked! I asked him if the fee could be waived, since I have never been late or no showed. He put me through to the manager, who basically told me, no! She explained she had been turning down people all day and could not waive my fee. This infuriated me! Since I know she could waive the fee! I have people on a wait list all most every day were I work and when I get no showed I still don't charge them! As a manager, I would have waived the fee. She showed no compassion for me and said she could take the fee out of one of my saved up massages! This was HORRIBLE costomer service. And because of her I WILL NOT renew my contract. Not only will I tell everyone I know not to go to Massage Envy, I work at a salon were we don't have a massage therapist. I have always recommended Massage Envy. Not only will I tell them NOT to go there, I will also tell them how horrible that manager was and the bad experiance I had with them.
I am all about customer service and keeping clients happy! This manager failed!
Good Massage. My first massage with this group. Amy did a good job, very professional. Facilities are top notch.
Really weird massage. I got a massage here about 6 months ago and judging by that massage I probably won't go back. It was really- bad. The guy wiped me off with a towel every time he was finished massaging a body part. It was really painful. Im not that sensitive either. That ruined the whole service. The place felt clean and peaceful and Im sure that there are some good therapist there but my experience was not so good.
Dana all the way. Definently will recomend Dana at Old Town, she is awesome. I need serious trigger point done often, and she is the one for it. Can't beat the prices, Can't lose with introductionary price :)
Editorial Review. Massage clinic, with locations nationwide, offers optional memberships to save on all types of massage therapies, gift certificates and products.
ASK FOR JILL. Jill gives the best massage in Dallas...she is truly gifted! If she's not available, one of the two Sara's at Old Town Massage Envy are great too.
Best Massage in Dallas. Great massage for the price - only $39 for introductory 1 hour session. I would recommend to everyone!
