Worst restaurant in Dallas?.
We had to wait 30 minutes to get seated and then another 55 minutes to get our food which turned out to be kind of bad. The waitress was absolutely forgetful and rude.
Not worth your time or money.
ashes to ashes. would have rated higher but my perfectly-cooked filet was tainted by the "char" marks left from the grill - my guess is that the cooking surface either was too hot or unclean (or both) when they attempted to "sear" it. the replacement dish (braised short rib) was significantly better, though. the lamb loin was also tasty but again was marred (to a lesser degree) by those repugnant grill marks. i would definitely like to give this place another shot.
Great Drinks. Very creative drink menu that are actually good. Food is great - crab cake is awesome. If you want a fried food fix, the fried portabella mushrooms are really good. Cheese plate is excellent. A little pricy, but not unexpected for the atmosphere and style of location.
Worst dining experience in Dallas. I consider myself somewhat of a foodie. I like to try the new places as they open, and see what their dining experiences have to offer. Last Friday night, I made a reservation for 5 at 7:30; my mother and were celebrating our birthdays. They aren't new enough to not have a groove. OK, worst service in Dallas. The hostess and mangers were great. The food, atmosphere, and presentation were amazing. However, when you don't have bread with your cheese plate, nor wine, 20 minutes after you have ordered a bottle, you start to loose your appetite. Ariiving at 7:45, we had no drinks 30 minutes into our dinner, no order was taken 45 minutes into our dinner. Our server stayed at our table for no more than 5 seconds at a time. He would take one drink order, and run off, when there were 4 other people waiting to order, and we had to flag him down each time. I can't tell you how awful he made the whole experience. When I finally tried to pull him aside to talk, he didn't have the time. (He only had us and one other table of 3) When I talked to the manager, I asked for a new server...She brought over a couple appetizers to compensate, instead of a new server as I requested. As stated before, no good when your appetite is waning. He then charged us for something we didn't have, and had to adjust the ticket. I gave him my card immediately after dinner, because we all wanted to get out of there quickly, they did bring a dessert with candles for our bdays, and it was really delicious. However, just thinking of the experience makes me ill. Seriously, the worst experience I have had dining in Dallas...and like I said, I eat out alot. It's such a shame, because it's a cool place. Luckily it didn't set the mood for the whole evening, but it took us a few minutes to get past it all. I firmly believe that every restaurant deserves a second chance, but it this case it will be a long while before I can make a reservation there without feeling doomed.
Hottie bartender call me. Bonnie Trice you're so hot. you waited on me and my boys 2 Fridays ago, ifyou or anyone who knows this little hottie bartender from Hotel Palomar reads my post make sure she knows I am in love with her and to call Chas Mitchell.
Very Gracious Spot. Showed up late on a Saturday night. Place was packed. We had no reservations (I don't recommend this). The staff could not have been more accomodating. Love the place and the way they treat their customers. Food was quite nice too. I have stopped by a few times for a quick drink with friends -- also wonderful service and atmosphere.
Adjacent to Hotel Palomar, this Park Cities eatery serves American cuisine in an urban resort setting..
In Short
The chic black and white color scheme creates drama in the main dining room. The effect is softened with natural wood accents and occasional pops of Japanese red. Starters include buttermilk fried sweet onion rings served with a side of creamy blue cheese dip. A wide selection of grilled items includes herbed lamb loin, artichoke crusted pork, and pan seared Texas quail. Non-meat eaters can request the chef's daily vegetarian special.
