I stumbled into VG's last night while at my local dry cleaner, which happened to be next door. It's safe to say VG's has their newest loyal customer. In five minutes I learned more about beef and the different cuts than I had learned in my previous 28 years. The owner/operator, Greg, was sincerely friendly and equally knowledgeable. When asked for a suggestion, he offered up a "Hangar steak," which I then prepared according to his advice. I'm a relative novice when it comes to grilling, but that steak easily ranks as the best I've grilled. It would be more convenient to purchase meat at the grocery store along with all the other necessities in life, but not everything needs a remote control, auto-off, or any other modern invention that makes life easier these days. Simply put, VG's is worth going out of your way for.
Pros: Selection, customer service
Cons: Parking is tight

Best butcher shop I've been to in Dallas. Greg is a top notch butcher, always willing to share his knowledge and tips. Everything there is top notch but the ribeye and pork ribs are especially noteworthy. You cannot go wrong here.
Pros: Quality fo meat and knowledge of staff
Cons: parking. That is the only con and we are not rating parking garages so who cares
