Frisco >Isabella's Italian Restaurant,Wedding Event location, and Wine Bar of Frisco
Amazing Food but So-So Service.
After purchasing a groupon for this restaurant, my husband and I decided to try it out. First experience was so-so due to a long wait (even with reservation) AND slow slow service. The atmosphere here is quite romantic I must say and the bar is a good waiting area.
After being seated, everything went well however, the waitress was terrible at refilling my water and at the time I was pregnant so I needed refills. I was left sitting with my water empty for over 15 minutes and finally had to drink my husband's water. The food on the other hand was worth the crummy first experience service. We started off with bread (delicious and warm) and the Calamari e Fritti which was crispy and fresh. Our entree's were fabulous. I ordered the Tagliata Toscano and my husband had the Bianca pizza. The beef in the Tagliata Toscano was so tender and seasoned to perfection. My mouth is watering just thinking of it. I tried a bite of my husband's pizza and the onions were so sweet and full of flavor. The dessert is my favorite part of this restaurant. We devoured the Budina al Carmello - Vanilla. OH MY GOODNESS! One of the best desserts ever. I am a dessert buff and really appreciate a delicious dessert. My husband and I have been here a couple of times now. The second time was absolutely perfect. After making our reservation, we were seated within 5 minutes (BTW - Highly encourage you make a reservation otherwise you will wait over 30 minutes) and treated like celebrities. The waiter was awesome throughout the evening and he even threw in one of the desserts for free! I can't remember what I ordered that trip but it must have been good since I can't wait to return. The dessert this time was the Budina al Carmello - Chocolate AND Vanilla lol. Both AMAZING but I prefer the vanilla. Absolutely recommend this restaurant for a romantic evening or just for an affordable delicious meal!
I loved it!.
I took my Mother there for Mother's Day weekend. She had the filet with a red wine sauce and she was IN LOVE! I had the gnocchi. It was like pasta pillows. We are Italian so we know good food when we eat it. ;-) The gnocchi's are so tender you can tell they are homemade. Delish!
The only criticism was my Caesar Salad hardly had any dressing on it...it was pretty dry. I could have asked for more dressing but we had already had the crab cake appetizer and was just waiting for the main course. I will definitely be back. Yum!

Truly the Frisco hidden Gem.
Dang that is some good Italian food....
My quest for Italian food in the Dallas Metroplex is finely over!
As a NY Italian living in Dallas, I have been repeatedly dissapointed in the Italian food that this fine city has put forth. But no more!
If the likes of Macaroni Grill, Maggiano's, and Nicolas (yes that one) appeal to you - Then Isabella's is clearly not the place.
Isabella's creates food similar to Mario Batali's style. They take traditional homestyle dishes and elevate them to incorporate modern technique. The food has a personality that reflects the efforts of the chef.
My Current favorite - Gamberi Con Aurora - This dish is a traditional shrimp and Pasta dish - yet at Isabella's they throw in red pepper to give it a zing. I order it extra spicy with chicken - a testament to the restaurants ability to get off menu and please it's cutomer.
I am also a huge fan of the semi-fredo (pistachio) dessert - which this Italian has never heard of! It is somewhere between an Ice cream and a flan - I think!!! I learned on my last visit that for special guests - they sometimes have other flavors in the back - Hope for the Dark Chocolate one!
The cheesecake is also a great dessert - again if you want food like some of the aforementioned Restaurants - this is NOT the dessert for you. True italian desserts tend to lean towards the Savory style - not the sweet. The Cheesecake at Isabella's nails the balance just right - sweet enough to be a dessert but not so sweet that you can't enjoy or taste your cordial or espresso...
Isabella's - for now- is my favorite Italian Restaurant
Perfect for weddings. This is by far the best place to get a full service wedding ceremony, wedding reception, wedding party in the metroplex. Located in Frisco on the back side of Legacy commons ( near the Westin hotel ) this Italian restaurant is a hidden Wedding event gem of a secret. You need to start booking now, because for wedding events Isabella’s is by far the Best wedding celebration I have been to. Fantastic Italian food, a Tuscany look and feel, no wedding planner ( or charges) needed and you can have the WHOLE restaurant including the fountain area if needed for a ceremonial celebration. Call now for your wedding or your wedding reception, they are booking for the Fall and filling up fast.
I recently had Dinner at Isabella's for the first time and I was absolutely delighted with the service I received and the spectacular food!
It was a busy Saturday night and our server was very attentative and made some wonderful recommendations for food and wine. We had an Amarone with the Veal and Tenderloin. All of this was just amazing and then to top it off we had a wonderul dessert the Raspberry Semifreddo.
Over all we had a great experience and we will be returning. I highly recommend the restaurant to anyone for lunch or dinner or even a special event.
They even have great Happy Hour specials with 3 large patios!
Flavorless frood comes at a high price.
When I first walked into Isabella's I was immediately appalled. Having gone through great lengths to create an aristocratic ambience complete with a live musician, they had immediately shattered it by playing pop music over the PA system while the musician was performing. Trying to not contemn the experience already, I moved on, open-minded, to the food. The focaccia was average, yet palatable. For my meal, I ordered a homemade gnocchi in a four cheese sauce. The gnocchi was undercooked (I suspect the chef was hastily trying to cook too many at once--gnocchi is tempermental and must be cooked in small quantities) and tasted of old, wet flour, and the overpowering cheese sauce seemed an after thought just to mask the failed gnocchi. Hoping that I had merely picked poorly from the menu, I ordered a cheesecake for desert. The cake matched the gnocchi in blandness and the only flavor it suggested was from the pistachios inside its crust and the strawberry on top.
Overall, for it's quality, which seemed on par with or even below a cookie cutter fast food Italian restaurant, the pricing was the largest outrage. My final bill (for two entrees, $18 of wine, and desert) was over $80, without gratuity. If you are looking for an intimate and refined family owned Italian restaurant, I recommend you try "Bene Bene." For the same price ($15 for Gnocchi), you will experience top notch quality and service.
Italian find!. I was referred by a hotel down the street for a place to have my engagement party. We had a small group of 18 so the owner booked the wine room for our special event in Frisco. What a fantastic italian restaurant for parties or any occasion
Great Fine Italian Food and PIZZA!.

I was in Plano looking for an Italian Restaurant and came across this Frisco Italian Restaurant on-line. Driving from Plano for an Italian Restaurant is not an everyday task for me so you know there was an incentive. The ad on citysearch mentioned the Italian Restaurant had live Jazz on Thursdays and Fridays AND free food AND 25% off the drinks we like. So off from Plano I went. When I arrived the place was boppin. Great music, great Italian food and last but not least, great Pizza. If you live in Plano and are looking for a great Italian restaurant in Frisco, give Isabellas Italian Restaurant a try, I think you will be pleased. Publish this review to Facebook
LOVE the pizza!

A little hard to find ( tucked behind silver fox)

Not a Fan.
I visited Isabella's at the suggestion of a dear friend who claimed it was simply amazing. Upon arrival, I was impressed by the exterior of the building, but it all went downhill from there. The receptionist couldn't find my reservation, but that was okay because the place was pretty empty. There were maybe three tables filled in the entire place, and we were seated right next to a family with a screaming kid. After requesting to be moved three times, we got a better table. The appetizer was yummy, but the main course was served cold. Well, to be fair, not 'cold', but far from warm. The server dropped my drink refill just feet from our table, but not actually on me thank god. It was like a bad movie, really. To top it all off, our dessert came out with a small, curly black hair on it. I can't be sure, but it resembled a pubic hair. Safe to say, we didn't eat it. The final disaster came with the bill. We were charged for 3 drinks (2 beers and a mojito) that we didn't order...since I don't even drink.
Do yourself a favor and stay clear of this place. It's apparent that the management is lacking, the server training is non-existent and the food was sub par. I've had better meals at Olive Garden.
