Feels like being in Japan. When I Mom suggested this place, I already had a fav Japanese place and wasn't willing to part ways with it. Well, I went the first time and tried not to be as pleased with it, but the service was excellent and the food was perfect. We were seated immediatly and given complimentary appetizers within five minutes. I've experienced a lot of great sushi and a lot of great Japanese places within the US, Europe and of course Japan. I rate this place among the best dining experiences not just for Japanese food, but for food period. The chefs don't mind you peeking over and taking a look at what they're doing. The waiter we always have always goes above and beyond to make our dining experience perfect, even to the point of making the "cheat" chopsticks for us. I would go to this place for a romantic date, for a family outing or even just for a night out on your own. GO TO AJISEN! The Cajun Roll is Supreme!

Bento boxes, curry, top-quality sushi and other traditional Japanese fare in Richardson's Chinatown district.. The Scene
Beaded curtains in the entry part to a small sushi bar which seats 7. An intimately sized dining room features 15 tables for small groups. Decorated in earthtones, fabric panels hang from the ceilings dividing the space. The open-style kitchen is framed by marble tiling and enclosed by clear windows through which diners watch chefs prepare dishes.

The Food
Ishiyaki stone grill allows diners to cook their own meat or seafood to the desired perfection. Ramen noodle dishes are a popular choice, as are Ajisen's curry dishes. Rich, flavorful Japanese curry is available as a rice dish with a variety of meat options, or with udon noodle. Bento-box options include teriyaki beef, chicken, grilled mackerel or miso salmon. Delicately wrapped in thin slices of cucumber, the Five Treasures Roll from the sushi bar is not to be missed. Seafood specials posted behind the sushi bar rotate on a daily basis.
