Better after change to Marcus Cafe.. We live within walking distance and love sitting on the patio. They have reduced the menu and everything on there is excellent. It also has one of the nicest patios in town.
Just Awful since the change. This place was great until it changed ownership hands a few months back. I went there last night to pick up dinner for my wife as she loved the Mac and Cheese entree which has now been butchered. The customer service was awful.
Loved it!. My fiance and I went on 9/27 and it was excellent! I had the pesto crusted salmon and he had the lobster raviolli and both were amazing! We sat out on the patio, which was very impressive. I would def. recommend this for a romantic evening out, and plan to go back again and again!!
Not that great.
I went to Michael Mark?s Trattoria and had a less than stellar experience. I was first seated on the benches along the wall, this bench has a high seat and the table was 6 inches above my knees. I asked to be reseated and at first said they could not. Considering the restaurant was mostly empty, it should have been no big deal.
The service was slow the wait staff could care less and the food was mediocre. I had the lasagna and it was OK but not good when compared to Momo?s on Forrest lane. I was disappointed because I live close by and attend country club near by.
I would not recommend this restaurant. There is too much competition for you dollars to be all around sub standard.
John in Plano.
Great neighborhood restaurant!. Worth repeating! Menu is good, the service was great and personable. I really enjoyed the patio, very quaint with a pleasant atmosphere.
THEFT???.
Be careful; the waiter added extra $$$ to our debit card bill and tip after we left!!!
When contacted, the restaurant manager was not exactly receptive to our complaint after it was discovered on our bank statement.
Personally, we plan to never eat here again simply because of this so-called "oversight."
You are warned!!!!
Good Food. Nice Patio. Six Visits With No Complaints..
We just ate here yesterday, 1-19-08 and we found that the menu has largely changed.
We have eaten here maybe six times over the last year usually around mid-afternoon on the weekend. It has never been crowded during this time and occasionally there was only one server, but the service was always decent. I have had the chef?s daily special a couple of times and have not been disappointed. All the entrees I?ve tried have been a little heavy with olive oil, but the flavor has always been very nice.
The patio is a nice place to go on a slightly chilly day since it is surrounded by a wall to keep the wind down. It is one of the nicer restaurant patios in Richardson.
With the nice patio and the food being above average for the price, Michael Mark's Trattoria will continue to be one of our regular destinations.
Just Eh.
Service: Friendly, but less than attentive. I wasn't really sure where our waiter was most of the time. He forgot to bring us bread at first. Seemed to just be him though. The other waiter appeared to be taking very good care of his guests.
Food: The bread was a little too crispy to be fresh. My daughter and I didn't care for the dipping sauce at all. We had the bruschetta to start. It is a hot bruschetta. I thought it was quite nice. The hubs liked it as well once the initial shock wore off. I also had a caesar salad that was good. Just enough tang to the dressing without being sour. Lots of parmesan on top. Perfect.
I had the chicken parmesan. The chicken was very thick. It really needed to be pounded to at least half it's thickness. I also ordered a side of fettucine alfredo rather than the usual spaghetti marinara. Instead, they didn't put marinara on my chicken at all and doused the fettucine and my chicken in alfredo. Needless to say, that ruined it for me.
My daughter got the MMT Mac & Cheese. That was very tasty if you're in the mood for a twish on an old american favorite. My husband got the chicken fettucine alfredo. It had some nice sundried tomatoes and he was very pleased.
We finished up with dessert. I had the banana ravioli. DELICIOUS! My daughter had the double double chocolate cake. The cake and icing were good, but they destroyed it by dumping raspberry sauce all over it...There was no real way around it either. The hubs had the zepolle. That was quite nice as well.
I'll try it again, but I won't go for my usual italian fare. I'll try to steak. I'll stick to Siciliano's for REAL italian.
Wonderful!. Having grown up in the neighborhood of Michael Mark's, it has been wonderful to have such a restaurant. Every time we visit we see family friends. I love the bread with balsamic vinegar and sun dried tomatoes. The pizza with sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, and feta cheese is wonderful. Great patio to enjoy a glass of wine after work. To inform you of how high we think of this restaurant, my fiancee took me there to celebrate with a bottle of wine after he proposed. I have been there about 8 times since March, and will continue to go there.
Poor seating service.
We tried this shortly after opening months ago. Just OK, food and service had a few problems. We felt ok about it and wanted to try it again. We tried it again tonight , Friday, 6:30 PM. Plent of seating avaiable. Asked to be seated on the patio. Ist table suggest was in the sun. We requested a table next to it in the shade. We were told we could not have that table (if a reason was give, we could not hear/understand it). Requested an explaination but instead were told we could have another near by table, also in the sun. We then said we would sit inside. We were take to the only 2 top (that I could see) and sat there for a minute and realized the tabel was about 18" wide. We then left.
I have never been refused a table without an explaination.
P.S. This place thinks a lot of itself, Valet parking, close to the front door rather than about 125 feet away where we parked. I don't use Valet parking and do not mind walking, it just seems pretenetious.
Plenty of restaurants that we like rather than try this one again.
