In Short – The tall walls of this amiable restaurant are saturated with intense orange, red and yellow hues and complimented by ornate rugs, drapes and an oversized hookah. An intimate lounge area with floor pillows welcomes late night regulars. Among many authentic Afghanistan specialties, the Halal menu offers kadu buranee, a sauteed pumpkin with garlic yogurt and meat sauce to start and marinated lamb kababs and steamed leek dumplings for main entrees.

A Persian Palate Pleasure

Each aspect of our evening at this North Dallas establishment was exquisite. From the quiet and quaint setting to the soothing and subtle Middle Eastern music to the sumptuous supper. We were warmly greeted upon entering and treated like family thereafter. The owner introduced both himself and a number of fine appetizers. We then enjoyed incredible kabobs and chalaos. The meats were moist and tender and rice done to perfection. But, AG saved the best for last -- bastani -- a cardamom and rosewater flavored ice cream topped with pistachios. Thanks AG! We will see you again very soon.
Delightful for all the senses

One of our favorites in DFW. The atmosphere is wonderful, the service is attentive and the food is a delightful blend of Middle Eastern flavors.
During our first visit, the owner brought us a few chef-tasting items. There was a pumpkin appetizer that was amazing. I really enjoyed their lamb chops -- cooked to perfection, tender.
We have been thoroughly pleased with our visits to Afghan Grill.

I have not eaten there yet but will in a few days. I just found this place. I spent 13 months in Afghanistan and was able to eat many times with the local villagers. The food was awesome so check back in a few days for a comparison!

I was longing to try Afghani food since the first time I drove past this quaint-looking restaurant on Preston road, and when I finally made the time to do so I was not disappointed.
The colorful interior decor, the giant hooka, the friendly staff, and the fragrant smells welcomed me into the restaurant and the food did not disappoint in the least. I had several questions about the cuisine and my waiter was more than happy to indulge my curiosity about preparation and the spices used.
The price was very reasonable, the dinner was delicious, and the staff were charmingly helpful. I highly recommend this dining experience.
- Pros: Delicious food, great price, excellent staff
- Cons: None that I can think of...
